Had a fun time. I used to come here all the time in my 20’s and recently thought I would make a trip back. My sister and I had a lot of fun. A lot of people were not wearing costumes and some people were, but it was still a lot of fun. DJ Chris played great music. Overall fun evening and plenty of room to move around. The parking lot is kind of dangerous to drive through and get in and out of in certain spots, but nothing is perfect.

If you are looking for that salty coastal rooftop bar, made of weathered wood and smells like summer then this is your spot. Fire the summer it gets a little packed but the bar tenders pour the drinks strong, and the food is just what you expect from a coastal dive. Decent wings, and a good burger.

We had a great experience! The food was phenomenal! Kelsey was the best! And Kim was great too! We had wings which put Archie’s to shame! The stuffed clams were delicious and so reasonably priced! The girls were amazing so friendly. The price of everything blows everywhere else out of the water. Drinks! So appreciated! Order a margarita you won’t be disappointed!

I came here with my husband after a concert in Old Saybrook. There weren’t many places open at 8:30pm. So we were looking to have a late dinner. We walked in the downstairs bar area and the bartender who I was told was the manager offered us the option of deck seating upstairs. So I thought that would be nice. So we went up and the bartender up there wasn’t aware of the kitchen still being open until 10pm. So we ordered drinks. I had a fuzzy navel and it tasted like straight up watered down vodka barely any orange juice or peach shnaps in it. We ordered soups which my husband enjoyed the French onion and I liked the clam chowder. We ordered appetizers which were tasty and then I had a fried scallop platter. My husband ordered a pasta Alfredo. We went home and 4 hours later my husband was dying in the bathroom and all he had was the soup and pasta. So I don’t know what they’re doing to the food at this restaurant but from reading the reviews it sounds like other people have gotten sick on it as well. Not good. If the health department checks in on them there maybe issues.

Terrible experience overall! We were a party of 5 and told to seat ourselves. It took about 10 minutes for the one waitress on duty to come bring menus and take a drink order and about another 10 minutes for the drinks to make it to the table. We placed our order with two simple apps and we waited and waited and waited. It took about 45 minutes for the apps to arrive and the one waitress manning the deck seemed to have disappeared. We had to go up to the bar ourselves to get drink refills, the guys delivering food asked us if we needed anything else but never returned with the silverware or condiments we asked for. After finished eating we were looking for the waitress (who still hadn’t ever come back to check on us after taking our order) so we could get our check. The bartender came by about 20 minutes later and asked us if we needed anything else and we simply asked for the check…it took her about 15 minutes to get the check to our table because not only was she manning the bar and its patrons, but she was running menus and food to other tables that had arrived after us. There was not one manager in sight to help this poor woman out! We definitely wouldn’t have left a tip if the missing waitress had reappeared but did decide to leave a small tip in hopes that the bartender would take it because none of the crappy customer service we received was her fault. Highly DO NOT recommend this place!

We’ve driven by The Deck countless times & needed lunch. We weren’t disappointed having 1/2lb burgers(!) loaded tots & sweet potato fries. Our margaritas were made as requested. The staff were courteous, polite & accommodating. Perfect day out o. The top deck!

I am writing this to warn the public about my experience at this restaurant. On 08/09, I was racially profiled, physically assaulted (I have picture proof of my injuries), harassed, and hate-crimed on their premises. When I returned to request the security footage to document what happened, management refused to release it unless I involved the police.
Considering the discrimination I endured here, why would I feel safe involving law enforcement — especially when the restaurant has already denied me the footage I need to protect myself? Instead of showing basic decency and cooperation, employees hung up on me during follow-up calls.
One even told me, “I’m Black, so I doubt what you’re saying is true,” dismissing my experience entirely. (That convo with the ‘black’ employee was between 7pm to 8pm on 08/12/2025)
This is not how any ethical business should treat a customer who has been harmed on their property.
If they continue to withhold the footage, I will have no choice but to share my full story publicly across multiple platforms and invite others to do the same. The truth will speak for itself, and it will reflect exactly how badly this corporation handles serious incidents.
If you care about fairness, respect, and safety, think twice before giving your money to this establishment.

Food was pretty good not mind blowing. I did feel nauseous driving home. I had a feeling I was going to get sick from the food. Service was pretty good as well. Waited about 20 minutes for our food which was fine. There was a weird smell and the place was a little dingy Overall 3/5. Would I come back? Probably not.
