I had one of the best deep-dish pizzas of my life here, and I’m still thinking about it. I tried both the pepperoni–sausage and the veggie deep dish, and each one had its own charm—rich, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. The crust was perfectly crisp on the outside and soft inside, the ingredients tasted unbelievably fresh, and the amount of cheese was generous in the best possible way. It felt indulgent without being overwhelming, and every bite had that comforting “this is exactly what deep dish should be” feeling.
It was even better than the deep-dish I had in Chicago. The balance of flavors, the quality of ingredients, and the care put into each pizza really set this place apart. You can tell that everything is made with intention.
One of the highlights of the visit was meeting Uncle Grant, the owner. He has such a warm, genuine personality so it felt like visiting a friend’s place. He brings a kindness and humor that make the whole experience feel personal in the best way. It’s rare to walk into a place for the first time and feel so welcome, but that’s exactly what happened here.

Delivery Review: This was so disappointing. When I had there sampler at a recent food festival I was pretty impressed so I decided to get it delivered off uber eats. Ive had pizza in chicago idk what i was expecting. Pizza was too salty. Top was burned, crust was half soggy half crisp. Breading was mad dry. Tasted like the weakest lasagna you ever had. They tried to shove this $50 pizza in a box way too small. Never get the pizza delivered man. Lady was so nice at the place too its a shame. Her workers aint doing her justice at all. DINE IN ONLY.

DELICIOUS! I have never had Chicago pizza before DC Chi Pie and I am forever changed. My friends and I were visiting from out of the area and were searching for local places to eat before our Air BNB opened and boy am I happy with our choice. I want to give this place a good review, but the service is pretty bad if you order from an app. I think I might have originally ordered from this place a year or 2 ago. You used to be able to Uber eats it just fine, but now for whatever reason, they will accept orders on Uber eats and then cancel it last minute before it should be delivered. It is pretty messed up on their part, and then they just say they are closed on the app to justify it.
Not exaggerating, I scheduled an order a week in advance for Friday 1/16/2026 at 12:30pm, they accepted the order earlier in the week, I changed it just to make it earlier so it was easier to get. Then they cancel like 10 minutes before the order was to be sent out. This was the first time this happened with a scheduled order, but this has been pretty consistent with them for ordering off of apps. Where you order from an app, they accept an order, then the order is canceled, and then it says they are closed on different apps but google says the store is open. If you want to be a dine in only store, just market yourself that way.
As stated earlier, I do want to give this place a high rating because the food is good and I did like the pizza the couple times I tried it. However, the service is so abysmal, I couldn’t really recommend this place in good conscience.

If you’re from Chicago, this is about as good as it gets in DC—which is to say, pretty dang good. They even offer a gluten free deep dish pizza that is solid (which is hard to find even in Chicago). Moreover, the folks working here are very kind (Midwestern nice?). The tomato sauce is a bit too sweet, but otherwise, this rendition is faithful to its heritage and will save you the cost of a plane ticket to O’Hare.

This is our favorite pizza spot in the entire city! Their Chicago deep dish pizzas are delicious! We’ve tried pepperoni, salmon, and classic tomato sauce pizza and ALL OF THEM were great! We regularly order and always pick it up ourselves, so we also get to chat with the owners. They are very sweet and nice people, and they always make sure that we are satisfied with our order. Absolutely recommend this place!

Can’t say enough good things about this place! I was greeted right away by the staff. You could tell right away they love what they’re doing, and their pizza definitely shows it! This is the best deep dish I’ve had outside of Chicago no question. It goes toe to toe with any of the popular spots out there. I got the Philly steak and I’ll definitely be back to try others. Don’t be deterred by the price because you’ll have a lot of leftovers, it is definitely worth it. Do yourself a favor and get the bread pudding as well, you won’t be disappointed! See you guys soon!

It pains me to write this review, but I feel that I have an obligation to do so. We placed an order this evening using a platform that was on this restaurant’s site. The order went through, so we were in route to pick it up. Just as we were pulling up to the establishment to see that it was CLOSED, we got a cancellation for the order from the platform. Google showed that the establishment was open and we even called the number and there was no mention about it being closed today. In fact, the message said it would reopen today. Really disappointed. We just want our small businesses to do better and be better.

FINALLY! Real chicago deep dish pizza in the DC area. Worth every penny and the drive. This place did not disappoint. Ordered the “personal” size for two people and it was more than enough. Super filling and excellent flavor. Will definitely try this place out again.

What is there to say about DC Chi Pie that hasn’t already been said? Although it’s temporarily home based, that has not impeded the quality of the pie I ordered. Ms. Margaret was warm and very delightful. The pie was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and filling (just one slice was enough). DC Chi Pie is my new “go to” when I want pizza!!!!! Thank you Ms. Margaret and DC Chi Pie for a FABULOUS MEAL!
