The Dankery – Flavor-Packed Trays & Fresh Comfort Food
Reviews
Real quick shout out to Ivan and his coworker for being straight-up and super helpful and friendly.
So got the food. It wasnt too bad, the sub was pretty good (liked the queso) but I wish it had some peppers.
I got to try wings, they were REALLY good. The wife got Lemon Pepper dry rub on them, a little on the sweet side but it still slapped. Fries were ur standard state fair kind, we didnt get it smothered with anything so ur milage may vary when adding that. Speaking on that we didn’t really get a sauce so I can’t comment on that, but the lemon pepper is pretty good.
So as far as price, I felt the Sub Tray was fair, I mean I’d spend that much at Chipotle and get about the same amount of food so it checks out to me . The wings however, while they were extremely good 6 wings for $15 is extremely high imo and even though I like the one I ate, I’d be hard pressed to pay for them at that price.
The spot inside is interesting, gives sort of a “closing for the night” club vibe, got a one tv in the back with some couches. Not super welcoming feel but honestly it not a big deal but felt I should share.
All and all, The Dankery is a pretty standard fried food affair. While we only got 2 different items with no extras or dessert, I feel that, that may be the best way to go about enjoying this place. Keep it simple. Food isn’t to die for, but u get ur money’s worth (wings debatable).

Thats my review but i do have 2 things to add. One for the owner, and one for online orderers.
For the Owner, it was concerning to see one of ur guys not wearing non-slip shoes especially being around a fryer and also I didn’t see the sanitation score, highly, HIGHLY suggest you fix those.
And for those that order online especially late at night. THIS ISNT AN EXCUSE, but do know that ordering any food around Raleigh late at night is a game of roulette. Sometimes its what u ordered, sometimes its not. Sometimes the food is hot and tasty, sometimes it seems like it was left in the cold and has no salt. Idk what it is about ordering Doordash but its just so damn inconsistent and The Dankery isn’t the only one thats suffers from this and certainly wont be the last. Also the pricing on Doordash is ATROCIOUS! Again the food is fine but paying DoorDash prices sadly makes this not worth. So if u gonna order Doordash at 1am, waiting over an hour and half and paying $20 for 6 wings, do be realistic with yourself.
My son has been going to the Dankery since the food truck days and has always raved about the place.
I finally had an opportunity to go after a night out on the town. The food was very well prepared and tasted great! The sandwich had a healthy portion of well seasoned, fresh meat that went very well with the fries. Overall very well prepared, good portion size and very good quality food, especially considering how late it was. The guys working were very friendly, informative and had a great attitude.
We will continue to visit the Dankery! The food was great and the staff were friendly making for a great over all experience . It’s easy to support our younger generation who throw everything they have into the positive things they envision for themselves and the public at large.
The Dankery’s food hits every time. It’s easily one of the best spots around when you’re craving something loaded and flavorful, but it can be a little pricey. The only downside is the service can be a bit slow sometimes, especially late at night, so you might be waiting a while.
That whoever she was talking to specifically asked what I wanted and still didn’t get what I wanted
I walked in thinking I was just grabbing some food… little did I know I was walking straight into a flavor renaissance. The energy in there was so good I legit looked around to see if they hired a vibe coordinator.
And even though I KNOW they didn’t actually do this, the service was so on point it felt like somebody in the back said a prayer over my order before handing it to me. I halfway expected Reece to come out wearing a superhero cape, and Seth to stamp my bag like “Certified Delicious — Approved by Upper Management.”
At one point I mentioned I was starving, and Seth looked like he was two seconds away from giving me a motivational talk about perseverance until the food came out. That’s the kind of support you don’t get anywhere else.
The wings? Straight-up legendary. The fries? Crunchy like they passed a quality inspection with a sound test. The sauce? Whoever created it needs a national holiday.
Overall, 5 stars with no hesitation. If you haven’t been to The Dankery yet, go ahead and make that trip — and make sure you show love to Seth and Reece because they’re really out here bringing the whole experience to life.
There were a lot of people already waiting ahead of us; it was a busy Friday night.
The cashier was pretty cool and was patient with my indecisive self.
The banana pudding was really good.
The music was a little too loud to conversate without raising our voices.
Overall I enjoyed my first time here and may try again next time we are on that side of town
