We pulled into this little side‑of‑the‑road diner not expecting much, and ended up blown away. The food wasn’t just good — it was the kind of flavorful, comforting, made‑with‑love cooking you can’t fake. The chicken fried steak came smothered in perfect country gravy, the kind that makes you pause mid‑bite because your brain needs a second to appreciate what just happened. The club sandwich was stacked tall and done right, and that smothered hamburger steak in rich brown gravy was pure, old‑school comfort on a plate.

Places like this are the reason you never count out the small spots. They’re still out here serving real food with real flavor, and this one absolutely delivered. We’ll be back without hesitation.

Been here a few times. It’s nice to have a decent restaurant in the area. The crawfish are on point! Smothered steak is pretty good but the roll I got was hard and as rock. Definitely worth the visit though! We’ll be back.

Great food, Great service, and Great prices!

My wife came here two mornings in a row while camping nearby. As soon as I walked in, I knew I was in for a good time. This is an old fashion style café. The kind that makes you feel right at home. A song from Kris Kristofferson was playing, and next up was Marty Robbins. I knew the words to every song that was played during our whole stay there. The first time this has ever happened at any restaurant.

The menu prices were shockingly low for breakfast, considering how much everything has gone up in the last four years. Most breakfast plates were under $10. The food was good and fresh and there was plenty of it. But the Biscuits! Let me tell you about the Biscuits. I am a southerner, and my mom is a soul food expert. Biscuits and gravy are a way of life for us. The biscuits at the Dam Grill are hands down the best biscuits I have ever tasted in my life. So light and fluffy that they melt in your mouth. If you ever eat here and do not try them, you do not love yourself. LOL!

The service was equally great. We got to know all the server ladies. When they found that my wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and were looking for things to do in the area, they all came up and offered advice and told us about some local places of interest. They were so friendly.

When we came back the next day, we were treated like hometown locals that had been coming there our whole lives. They called by name and once again took the time to find about how we were enjoying our time in the area and offer advice.

It is seldom today in this age that you are made to feel right at home as a tourist in a new town, but the ladies at The Dam Grill made us feel that way. Thank you ladies for making our time there special.

Oh, did I mention the biscuits? You have to try them!

Classic small town Texas Cafe where pretty much everything on the menu is delicious. Burgers are fantastic! Sub most sides for fries for free. Chicken fried steak is excellent. Music is pure country gold. Loretta Lynn, George Jones, Merle Haggard, Don Williams etc… Desserts are great too!
Stop in and enjoy! And crawfish in season is awesome!

On a roadtrip and decided to make a pit stop for breakfast with our dog.
Service : Very attentive & kind , they loved our dog
Atmosphere : calm, the restroom is also really cute and clean. The patio was a nice place to sit .
Food : It was really good , it tastes like a good ol home cooked meal. I had the one egg meal along with a pancake that was crisp and buttery along the edges just the way I like it.
Would come again.

Nice place for breakfast. Got the omelette with three ingredients and boy was it good. Comes with salsa, hash browns, and a biscuit. Everything was delicious. Service was excellent. Inside it was clean, well lit, and decor was nice. They also have other items for lunch but I came in only for breakfast. May have to come back to try other items. Enjoy having breakfast here for sure.

I walked in at 10:40am and was told breakfast wasn’t available as they were transitioning to lunch and once they finished cooking the breakfast orders my order would be taken… approximately 11:00 I ordered the daily special which happened to be a chicken salad sandwich with chips and a cup of spicy chili at 11:15 I got 4oz of chicken salad cut with hard boiled eggs on a hamburger roll and 16 potato chips, 11:22 I received maybe a 6oz portion of watery chili in a styrofoam cup barely bigger than a ramekin. The food wasn’t atrocious, but severely overpriced and the I only saw my server once the entire time I was there. After waiting several minutes for the server to bring me a check I went to the register and had the hostess get it for me. 11:35 I had learned my $16 lesson and departed. I hadn’t thought to take a picture of the sorry sandwich and chips, here is a pic of the chili
