We’ve been going to the Dahlia for about 10 years now. It was one of our all time favorites. However we will no longer go again. They have started charging their customers a 3.90 fee if you pay with a credit card. Also charge you a “meals Tax”, VA tax and a city tax! Yes this is true and please look at our receipt. All of those fees were an additional $11.45! Sorry Dahlia but we can go to many other good quality restaurants who don’t pass on these fees to their customers. On top of that, our fried oysters appetizer was over cooked and my husband’s poached Halibut was very bland and dry. Avoid this place. Paying those taxes is Dahlia’s responsibility. That’s part of running a business.

Classic restaurant with bar. Excellent seafood and wine options. Really want to see this place keep evolving and adding to the menu new options, as they do great work in the kitchen.

First time eating at The Dahlia. We were there for Saturday Brunch. Two of us had Eggs Surry and one had an omelette with brunch potatoes. Both were excellent. We plan on going back to try out the dinner menu. I highly recommend The Dahlia.

Just got to town, this place was a close walk. Absolutely a hidden GEM!!!! Everyone kept bragging about how good their meal was! I had the flatiron steak….AWESOME!!!! Best advice…. Leave room for dessert! I’ve been all over the world traveling…. Their homemade Bread Pudding is near the top of my lists…. Of ANY DESSERT I’ve ever had!!!! My wife doesn’t even like bread pudding and she ate almost half of it….. prices were good and wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Will definitely be back!!!!

Awesome food with a very pleasant / fun / nostalgic atmosphere. The service is exceptional and hard to beat. On top of the fabulous and scrumptious menu, you must try the handmade desserts, they are decadent and to die for.

Billy, our server was amazing. However, the finish on the tables has been rubbed off so they feel weird and dirty. It was not busy at all as we were in for an early dinner. Cool spot too. My fries were cold, and my fush tacos were not worth the price. As a first timer, it didnt match the raves of other patrons and is overpriced. I, more than likely will have to consider heftly if I am to return.

The Dahlia has become one of my favorite restaurants in Lynchburg. It consistently has great food, service, and atmosphere, and as a seafood (esp fresh, wild caught fish) lover, they always have an assortment to choose from on the nightly specials menu. It’s always prepared wonderfully, and the fish is never over cooked. Can’t say enough good things about this place.

Recently visited for the first time and timed it perfectly for Restaurant Week. It was odd to me there was nothing referencing the Restaurant Week specials in the restaurant- but the waitress knew exactly what our options were. Inside the space is clean and neat. There isn’t too much character in the décor, but that’s not why people go here. You go for good food and quality service. We enjoyed great service without a reservation and everything was delicious. I will definitely be back to try more things.

Hands down The Dahlia is one of the best brunch spots in town. My wife and I first went in 2017 on a friend’s recommendation. We’ve been many times since, and between us have tried every item on the menu. There’s something for everyone, and in terms of value you can’t compare when you consider you get a free drink (bloody mary, mimosa, or other non alcoholic options).

We ordered the 12 oz ribeye and the ahi tuna (a special of the day). My ribeye was cooked so perfectly that I ate all 12 ounces of it! The mashed potatoes were the first I’ve found in a restaurant that I actually liked. My onion rings were HUGE and delicious as well. My boyfriend said his ahi tuna was the best he’s had in a while, and that the aioli on top was on point. His creamed spinach was excellent, and was actual creamed spinach instead of something similar to spinach dip like we’ve had at other restaurants. Our service was amazing as well. We were happily greeted as soon as we walked through the door. Our server, Kim, was very attentive and engaging. She even talked us into dessert although we were already about to bust. The godiva chocolate cake did not disappoint though! We’ll be back : )
