At one time, New Hope had been a haven for gay bars. Three years ago, The Cub Room was the last one standing, but then it closed, too.

A local who has lived here for 22 years. I’ve been here a couple times and it was all fine but tonight was a different story. Waited for 10 minutes while a bunch of staff just wandered around, talking to people around the bar… literally leaning on the bar, not caring that not only us but a different couple were right there waiting at the tables. I went up and asked if there was a waiter and he said, yes, someone will come, but again, just sat there with my significant other while they chatted and didn’t give a hoot we existed. After about 20 minutes we left. We know it was that long because we can tell when we locked the car on our phone. Shame, I had nothing but nice things to say about this place before but clearly they really don’t need business so all I’d say is I guess if you’re not one of their favorites you could just be sitting there wasting your time. I really hope it wasn’t discrimination. I know the vibe but I thought they of all people they are accepting.

THIS IS NOT A GAY BAR..! DO NOT COME HERE..! I just came out of cloaet, they promised me 2 days in a row I could shake my azz they having a DJ and dance party told me I was safe. Nothing but old married men. Finally they play pitbull man asked me to dance I was Gay forn2 min $500 outfit dude walks off i tried to pay my bill amd some old woman starts yelling at me then she touched me and tried to act like I was a problem only had 2 glasses of wine and now I regret comeing out of the closet. I got to be me for less then 2 minutes… why? DO NOT COME HERE GAY MEN ARE NOT WELCOME HERE!!! Oh and cops called… again why?

Attended an event here a couple weeks ago what fun. What a great crowd there weren’t tickets but it was well organized with reserved seating. The synergy twin were playing and they were excellent the have a chalkboard that tells you about upcoming events. I hope they are successful and it that event is any indication they will be. Just an FYI It’s the only gay bar left in new hope.

The service here is excellent the bartenders are the best in town and they make a perfect Manhattan. The space is cozy and has a friendly vibe. The menu is small but homemade and delicious.

We had a wonderful party at The Cub Room and highly recommend it. The staff and other patrons were incredibly kind and fun, the space is so comfortable, and the vibe was perfect. We hired a DJ and danced all night on the great dance floor, with access to a lovely deck overlooking a fountain. A few of us even relaxed in the garden hammocks. There’s a small pool there too, but we didn’t know if we were allowed to use it, and were dancing so much we never asked. You really can’t go wrong with this place—I’m already looking forward to coming back for one of their tea dances! It’s a gay friendly bar, so if you don’t feel that way, don’t go, but otherwise all are welcome. You will love it.

This place is unsafe and deeply problematic. There are serious concerns involving drugs, discrimination, and questionable matchmaking practices involving money. The quality is poor, especially compared to the high prices, and the environment is not secure. Many people have had disturbing experiences here — some even report being victimized — and it’s unpredictable whether you’ll be treated nicely or horribly. For your own safety and well-being, it’s best to stay far away from this place. Rooms are horrible with bed bugs …. Do you want carry bed bugs on upon your check out .

They refuse to give you an itemized receipt because they deceptively add in additional charges without you knowing. They charged $10 for a hotdog during happy hour and add their own tip without telling you. Be careful here.
Also, they charged me $5 for an ice cube (“rocks”), which I never asked for. I had sent back this ice cube because the waiter messed up the original order (whiskey with no ice). Why am I paying for an order that I never ordered?
Very disgusting and deceptive behavior on behalf of this establishment. They try to swindle you when you’re not paying attention.
I ended up paying $100+ for four drinks. Crazy!!
I want to support this establishment, but their actions were totally unacceptable and ruined my evening.

Staff is warm, friendly and kind. Food was good. Beer selection is limited but they had a good lager. Suggested New Hope Lodge which is newly updated and nice. Has an outdoor pool. Will be back. Thank you.
