The bouncer said that the elevators to access this bar are in the Compass Real Estate just south of it on 14th St. It is unclear whether the elevator is accessible during all operating hours of the bar, and I’m not sure how well informed they’d be about outages, so you may want to call ahead to be sure.
Otherwise, there is 1 flight of about 24 stairs with a landing in the middle and two handrails to descend to enter (the image is from the halfway point.) The stairs have poor contrast between them as the yellow and black caution tape has faded.
Management, please add contrast tape and install brighter lighting in the stairwell to enter to avoid falls and liability issues.
The tables and bar are high, most with stand-alone chairs but some along the wall also have a booth.
The restrooms are single stall for any gender. They have grab bars.
General info:
There are happy hour specials. There is no food available, but there’s plenty of restaurants nearby.
We hosted my husband’s birthday celebration at The Crown and Crow, and it was nothing short of incredible. We had a party of about 20 people, and every single one of us had an amazing night. The vibes were exactly what you want for a celebration with friends and family.
The service was superb from start to finish. Manager Graham and the entire team were so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. The drinks were delicious across the board—beer, cocktails, and wine—shoutout to one of their bartenders who made me the best Old Fashioned on the East Coast.
We would highly, highly recommend this spot to anyone in DC looking for a great night out. Whether you’re celebrating something special or just grabbing drinks with friends, The Crown and Crow nails it every time. Cheers!
It’s located an awkward distance away from the metro but somehow that works in its favor—never dead and never overwhelmingly crowded. I also really like that there are two separate spaces that you can easily walk between. Very reasonable prices and interesting beer/spirit options!
Things you should know:
It’s down a flight of stairs. I didn’t see any way for someone to get in it they can’t do stairs (like if they’re in a wheelchair or on crutches).
They don’t serve food, and in DC that means little kids are not allowed in by default, so if you’re organizing a reunion or something, check with them about whether folks with kids can stop in for a brief time.
