Live music drinks was cool
The ownership has changed as evident by the new sign and staff. The feel is a bit different. The crabcakes or shrimp salad aren’t as good. The Brussel sprouts were really good, the ribs were average. The staff was ok but not as professional as they could have been. Pics are from the updated review.
**old review**
It’s a good restaurant with a homey feel. The food ( especially wings, shrimp salad, crabcakes) and service is always good. I’ve never seen it crowded even on Moms Day. Pricing is good also. The crabs look good however I haven’t had them . The parking is in a shopping center.
We were seated quickly with no wait because there was only around 8 of us in there, honestly, if that. Staff was very polite & friendly. Casual, Homey Spot located within a strip mall type area. Restaurant was clean. A few Sketchy Type Folk were hanging out in front of the store but nothing too bad. AC was up kinda high/cold. Lots of TV’s around; only 1 on. Not loud but then again place was not even half full. Just a handful of us in there on a Labor Day Weekday around 5pm.
Food took like, 25-30 min to come out. Nothing was hot but very warm which was alright. I got the 2 Crabcake Dinner; friend had Steak & Crabcake, Broccoli, & Mashed Potatoes. Also Sierra Mist + a great homeade unsweetened iced tea (used Sweet & Low on the table.) The Crab Cakes were a nice size, looked good & fried beautifully, and had plenty crabmeat + more than a few backfin pieces/chunks along with minimal filler; they needed SOME type of *FLAVOR* though; particularly seasoning of any kind, or Old Bay BUT they weren’t bad just Extremely Bland…not sure why their crabcakes were garnished with CILANTRO though. Crispy fries. Coleslaw was good & fresh but VERY oniony tasting.
Steak was alright & mostly tender but came well-done instead of medium- rare as asked for. Mashed Pot were tasty. Broccoli OK. Portions for Dinners were OK. Staff was attentive but not intrusive. Only seemed to be 1 Waitress, 1 Cook, & 1 Bartender standing @ an empty bar on this particular day. Overall Not THE Best but definitely Not Terrible either. Food wasn’t the Worst I’ve ever had and I didn’t get sick. Reasonable prices I guess.
Reheated my leftover 2nd Crabcake @ home, added some Old Bay; it was pretty gud AFTER BEING SEASONED. Honestly, prolly would not go back again. Was told they switched ownership and food USED to be WAY Better. Can’t say I Recommend BUT if you find yourself winding up here With No Other Real Options You Should Be Alright Depending Upon WHEN U Come and What U Order.
