We arrived about 6 pm on a Sunday evening, two of us. We were seated immediately in the front dining room and our server greeted us promptly for our drink order. She returned first with our requested water and then with our draft craft beers which were reasonably priced at $5 each. We ordered half dz raw oysters and cup of crab soup first. Oysters were small but tasty and soup was delicious, full of crab meat. We ordered entrees after our appetizers, fried soft shell crabs and the combo plate with blackened scallops and 1 crab cake. Sides were included with the dinners, cole slaw for both, fries on combo, bake potato with crab. We both enjoyed our food. My favorite were the scallops. Nice sear and tender meat. Service was very good. We would go back. Prices were reasonable and servings generous.

My experience at the crab trap was disappointing and unexpected because of the way we were being treated by the employees “hostess” .. I came here and got put in a middle table to my mother asked to move to a window seat and one of the hostess told her she cannot change us to a different seat and overall being extremely rude to my mother while there were plenty of seats , also my mother had asked for a drink they didn’t have but said they did then bringed another drink she did not ask for and then after that told my mother they didn’t have the drink she wanted, The waitress was really touchy which my mother also did not like. When we were sitting down getting ready to order i was observing what was going on around me and i saw a waiter give a old couple dirty cup with lipstick on it which is absolutely disgusting and the bathroom is a whole nother level of disgusting the floor was sticky with urine and the sink was sticky with idk even what. But the piano man that played was really nice and he was really good at singing and playing. Another thing is i am injured on my knee and the hostess saw that and still put us all the way upstairs. Again but with food my moms boyfriend ordered something but they gave him something else

We were a party of 9 and we were seated right away. It took a while for the food, but it was definitely worth it. Our waitress Katie was very nice and kept bringing drink refills. The food was incredible. They had great sauces and awesome seafood. I loved my salmon. Would always come here on vacation.

I’ve been coming here for roughly 20 years and my experience this evening lived up to my expectations. I feel I received a good amount of food for the price, and the wait staff were on point. My wife and I both got the Georgia Shrimp (fried) with grits and fries (requested grits in place of the coleslaw). Per the image our plates came out with grits instead of fries but when we brought this up it was corrected quickly and without any issue. The battering they use on the shrimp and fries is what I really love about the place. From my experience, if you’ve got complaints with The Crab Trap you are either going to have issues with every place you go, or you happened to go on a very busy night at peak time. Yes they are busy, but that tells you that their service and food is at a quality which is reasonable for what is paid.

As a party of 10, we were seated promptly and our food came quickly. The food was accurate and tasted really good overall. One steak was ordered medium and was prepared well done. Couldn’t give full points on service as the waitress seemed impatient with requests for drink refills and condiments.

Had a lovely light dinner here on a quick trip to St. Simons. Crab bisque was extra crabby-in a good way. Fried shrimp were lightly breaded and tasty. Service and atmosphere were nice. Prices were reasonable for a resort area. I’ll try again and have a whole dinner on my next visit.

I had the deviled crab cakes. They were full of crab and pretty satisfying. We came here during the off season, so there was no wait and staff was very efficient. I do wish they had one vegetarian option besides their sides. Nothing very fancy but if someone was in the mood for standard, but good quality, seafood fare, I would recommend.
