Food, service and staff are awesome. My favorite dishes are the garlic pasta, mix & match and blue crab.
During the week I love to come hangout during their happy hour, where their skilled bartender Marco makes a variety of shots and other mixed drinks. Mocktails will have you thinking you ordered it with a shot of liquor.
But my favorite part of this new establishment are the owners!! They welcome you like family and listen. They even have a DJ twice a week, where customers sing along while having flashbacks of memory lane of the great hits playing!
Back to who I assumed was either the owner or the manager; he greeted me and got my drink ordered from another young lady that wasn’t behind the bar, while I waited on my brother and sister in law to arrive. When they finally arrived, I waited several more minutes before I received my drink. And my brother and sister in law wasn’t greeted nor acknowledged at all, so as a result they didn’t get their orders placed. Then I suggested we sit at a table for possible faster service. It worked! Again, the nice manager guy cleaned the table and seated us. We were assigned a very polite young lady. Super sweet. So on the strength of the manger guy and our waitress, I’m giving 4 stars.
I went on a Friday evening. I walked in around 7:40 or 8pm. As soon as I walked in, the DJ was immediately to the right in a corner and he was spinning some really decent music. I think he did a good job of mixing the genres. So the vibe was really chill and cool. I liked it.
My drink wasn’t great at all. I ordered the “Sunset Pina Colada” (I don’t think that’s the correct name, but it was some sort of pina colada). But you guys should consider calling it something else because there was no coconut cream, or pineapple involved. In fact, that drink wasn’t great; easily one of the worst drinks I’ve ever ordered. I didn’t taste the alcohol in it at all. It definitely gave a virgin cocktail vibe. And although I’m familiar with rums, I wasn’t familiar with that particular rum that was used in the drink. It tasted like a tequila to me. I’m used to rum having a slight spiced taste. Rum in general has a very distinct taste from the other spirits. Anyway, I ordered a double shot of the rum to add to my “virgin cocktail”.
Arrival time (approximate): 7:40pm
Time at the bar alone before being greeted/drink order placed (approximate): 5-8 minutes
Time at bar waiting on my drink when my bro & sis in law arrived (approximate): 3-4 minutes
Time at bar waiting on my bro & sis in law to be greeted for their orders to be taken without acknowledgment from the bartender (approximate): 10-15 minutes
Food: We ordered two 12ct platters of oysters. 1 Cajun Garlic Parmesan and 1 Bacon Rockefeller. On both platters some were piping hot (not complaining), some were just right in temperature, and some were cold which enhanced that ocean taste. Overall, they were good aside from the cold ones with that ocean taste.
Will I be back? Maybe when they figure out their flow of service and hire an additional and or faster bartender.
It’s a fairly small establishment, but maybe consider hiring a host or hostess to take care of the lack of acknowledgment issue.
