Nice cozy spot, with live music. Food came out pretty fast. Don’t order just fried oysters, because you will be charged for the entire basket without the side #ripoff prices. A one time go to spot. Oh, and the music is so LOUD, you can’t hear yourself think. Other than that, to food was cooked very well.

I almost didn’t go here because of the so so reviews but honestly I’m tired of the crappy service at Spondivitz and the mediocre food. I was in a seafood mood. The crab spot didn’t let me down. Honestly the only reason I can think of their bad reviews was for their service. This makes sense…a new restaurant with great food being embraced by the community as a fantastic place to dine is maybe why the service at the peak times is slow. That’s not a bad thing, it just means people like this place.

I ordered the Dungeness crab and shrimp bag. It was one of the best seafood dishes I’ve had in years. The crab was perfectly seasoned and the shrimp were huge.

Give this place a chance.

My husband and I stopped in for a bite prior to flying from ATL to Las Vegas. This place did not disappoint! We were uncertain of where to park, so I called the restaurant and the hostess was so nice to look out the window and guide us to a parking spot. We took the elevator to the 2nd floor where we are greeted by the hostess. She asked if we preferred a booth or high boy. We took a booth and were greeted promptly by Jas, our waitress. Jas’ service was excellent! She provided recommendations and helpful ordering tips. We ordered the snow crab bag and fried catfish/shrimp platter. The food was absolutely delicious! The portion size and the seasonings were just right! We look forward to returning again!

So I went this place with a group wanting seafood and I’m not a fan of shellfish but I notice they had sushi which I love so wasn’t too disappointed. The sushi was actually pretty decent considering the type of establishment. I recommend the Tsunami and Atomic rolls. Each one had 8-10 pieces. The fried green tomatoes as a appetizer was delicious so definitely order some. Not super busy on a Sunday afternoon so got a seat right away for a group of 6. They did have a buffet which didn’t look too appealing but received complements from one of the members of the group. Located on the second floor which you can take the stairs or wait for the elevator. Enjoy my foodie connoisseurs.

If I could give it 0 stars I would! Service was incredibly slow. We waited for 25-30 minutes to even get assigned to a waitress. (NOT EXAGGERATING)

(While reading this: Keep in mind that we made it to the restaurant a little bit past midnight.)

-It was poorly lit

-Extremely loud music (Some people seemed to enjoy this aspect. However, me personally, I felt is was distasteful)

-When our drinks finally came it had a fly in it.

-They ran out of catfish

-It was 3 of us and our food was all brought out at separate times with about 6 mins in between (Yes, I timed it)

-NONE of the food was fresh so I’m not sure why it came out at different times.

-The wings came out freezing cold.

-My boyfriend ordered Snow Crab Legs (1.5lb) for 21.99. The flavor was excellent but the quality was POOR. The legs were so stale they wouldn’t even crack properly. Then when we asked for a shell cracker they “ran out” When we asked for it to be removed from the bill, a man came out and said it was “policy” that once you order it, there are no refunds. Yeah, whatever. So they remade the food and it was still gross.

My shrimp and grits ($18.99) were AWFUL. The grits were firm and clumpy and tasted old. There was a liquid substance that I’m sure was some sort of cream sauce but it was very loose and it was over bearing to the dish.
The shrimp was ok but they kept the tails on which I didn’t like. I took a few bites of the dish and asked for the check. (Which came 15 minutes later)

-18% gratuity automatically added. I don’t think the service was worth 18%

-THIS WAS NOT WORTH $50+… I should have went somewhere else. Never again.

The atmosphere was very refreshing…it started as a nice laid back sort of place with a live band performing beautifully, providing that blues/old school vibe. The place was packed, and I noticed a lot of couples and people celebrating birthdays. The menu offered a lot of options that were reasonably priced…everything from crab legs, blue crab and po’ boys to gator meat, oysters and even sushi. The food ended up being pretty good, and came in nicely sized portions. The chips/dip appetizer and fried deviled eggs were also a highlight of the experience. All of my companions also enjoyed their meals, with each of us having ordered something different. While we were enjoying our food, the live band made their exit and a Dj took over the entertainment role. The energy subtly shot up, and next thing you know, half the ladies in the place were on the “dancefloor”. Soon after, the men were up dancing and enjoying themselves as well. The DJ took us on an aural journey that found us bopping and reminiscing about the early early 90s. While the energy did shift, it remained tactful with people just enjoying good music, good food, and a trip down memory lane. Never once did it get “wratchet”. I also never noticed anything that made me feel the place wasn’t kept clean/sanitary. There was seemingly a bit of confusion at the host stand at the very beginning, but nothing that would lead to a negative experience…just be prepared for a brief and kind of confusing wait. The atmosphere remained grown and sexy throughout the evening. Very nice vibe, nice menu variety, good food, black owned, I highly recommend for a fun date or to link up and kick it with friends ‍♂️ BEWARE THE AUTOMATIC 18% GRATUITY AND THE “ALL ORDERS ARE FINAL” POLICY !!!!!

Served Raw bang bang shrimp. Replaced with double the shrimp, appeared cooked properly. Added a martini to minimize risk of food poisoning 🙂 Wait staff apologized. Billed for all items. Decor was run down, bathroom very dirty and foul odors. Won’t be back.

To patron this place when you are hungry is a huge mistake. Staff are unprofessional, food is beyond mediocre, and floors so sticky my wife’s sandal came off. Ordered a cup of gumbo and it came in a wood salad bowl. It was extremely hot, microwaved, and the shrimp was mushy. Ordered a side of spinach for $5.50… literally got three bites in a bowl that should have been the vessel for the gumbo. Ordered a side Caesar salad…why on this Earth would candied pecans come in a Caesar salad???? And why is it not disclosed? My wife ordered the shrimp and crab salad and I almost laughed. The sangria was nothing but glorified grape kool-aid with a ton of alcohol. $67 only to leave and find somewhere else to eat. That was the most expensive fast food meal I have ever had.
The only good thing about this establishment is the option to sit by the window and stare at all the other food places I should have went to.

Came here because Spondivits had a line out the door and around the corner, but that was lucky for us. We arrived and it was slightly crowded as well but we were seated fairly fast. The seafood is great and they have an extensive sushi menu

We arrived just after 5…about 5:20 PM. When we got there there were only 3 other tables of guests seated and none waiting. First impression was horrible as the vast no hosts at the counter and the man who did come to seat us was more concerned with finishing whatever was on his phone before greeting and seating us. We overlooked that. We sat down with out menus and was told our server would be right over. 10 minutes later he walks up but is spending just as much time talking to us as he is to the server and table seated to our right. We overlooked that. We were asked for our drinks and he returned shortly thereafter with them but didn’t even speak to us as he placed them, rather continued his conversation with the other table. We placed out food order by 5:40/5:45. It took a second because literally everything my boyfriend wanted they were out of…..no blue crab, no hush puppies… finally had to ask what they did have. Smh. Fast forward 30 minutes later no food and he finally returns to tell us our food will be out shortly. 15 minutes later he come out with my side salad but nothing else and says it’s coming right up. 10 or so minutes later he comes out holding my boyfriend’s food but not mine. I sat just a little confused only to hear that he dropped my food and that it would be out shortly. I literally received my food 5 minutes later. At this point I didn’t even have an appetite anymore. At all. I don’t understand how our food could initially take 45 mins to prepare and serve but only 5 to recook my food and serve it to me. There’s no way that’s possible. I didn’t even eat my whole sandwich bc I just felt like I was eating food off of the floor. I waited literally a hour to be served a salmon burger that had LITTLE TO NO SALMON IN IT! There were bits and pieces of salmon but the patty was 95% breading and onions for 13.99. They served my burger with fries that I specifically said I didn’t want, I assume in a feeble attempt to make up for dropping my food. Bigger fail. My bf didn’t complain about his food so I withheld my extreme discontent with the situation.

All in all our bill was just under $50. No discount for the extended wait. No apology for anything other than dropping my food… forget the 45 minutes that we waited just for you to drop it. 45 minutes with literally NO GUESTS IN THE RATHER LARGE FACILITY. In a restaurant that probably seats 175-200 people and the were only 9 total people in there including ourselves…45 minutes shouldn’t be the case. At all. And don’t get me started on the fact that the 18% gratuity is automatically added onto every check… even with below subpar service. They still get tipped either way so there is no reason or incentive to actually serve and make the guests happy. Ridiculous. He didn’t deserve $1. He even attempted to refill my boyfriend’s Sprite with WATER! wth?! Come on now. He even served us our water ain red cups as to notate the difference between the two. I’ve included pictures of my bread burger. Needless to say…. don’t go here unless you want to pay unreasonable prices for unreasonable service. I can only hope that someone sees this who actually matters. It didn’t seem as though anyone in the building at that time even cared.

Side note: ….i’m giving 1 star because, 1 I have to and 2 my bf enjoyed his meal and the steamed baskets that were delivered to the table to our right actually looked and smelled good even if they were severely overpriced. Wish I could’ve said the same for my food. Otherwise…it would be none.
