Best food I’ve had in a long time! Better than other establishments serving the same kinds of foods. True heart of a small family run business cooking! Will for sure make the hour drive back to eat here again.

Saw this on Google maps while in town visiting and thought I’d give it a try. The decorations, murals , and music were all of black musicians during the blues era. It was amazing to look at and there were many conversation pieces to talk about while waiting for our food.
I ordered the Kings platter and my wife ordered pecan chicken and waffles. The kings platter gave me a chance to try a little bit of everything and I really enjoyed the chicken wings and hot sauce. What I didn’t enjoy was the mac and cheese. I can’t pin point what it is but my guess is maybe American cheese? I could be wrong , but it definitely didn’t taste that good.
I was told the pecan chicken and waffles were really good though! Overall we’d come back to try what else is on the menu and to hear some good music .

(Revised, subsequent to your reply) I’m glad you take these reviews seriously. It shows an effort is being made. Please just keep the place a little cleaner – it will go a long way to getting customers back again. You’ve got a great location, menu, and staff but atmosphere is important, too. We want to see you succeed again! Have a good summer.

Delicious food, great atmosphere, my kiddos loved their waffles. I had the cozzy platter with baked beans and fried okra and found that everything was awesome! Best regards to the cook, most delicious fried chicken I’ve had in Wisconsin so far.

BEFORE I BEGIN, I’ve seen a ton of snarky comments from the owner (extremely off putting and immature), and instructions to bring up issues in store rather than on a review. No. Nobody is posting reviews to solve issues with their food old timer, it’s on a PUBLIC FORUM, so you can inform the PUBLIC of your experience, so they can decide whether or not to eat here.

Alright so I was unsure about coming to this place because of the mixed reviews, but decided to give it a shot. I lived in Houston for 7 years and just moved here from Detroit, so I’m very familiar with southern and soul food.

The good: The service was very good, there weren’t many people in there but it was 3pm so I’m not surprised. The music was nice and relaxing, the overall decor was pretty cool. They have a roll of paper towels on a dispenser at every table, that’s pretty nice.

The bad: The table we sat at was sticky, like it had been washed with a very dirty rag.

I ordered the Kings Platter (sausage, drumstick, breast, pulled pork, baby back ribs, catfish, and cornbread) with fried okra and collard greens, sweet tea to drink. It came so fast I knew there was no way it was cooked to order. Very nice portions, got some leftovers.

The tea was great, the collard greens were clearly premade and microwaved, though they still weren’t terrible, the fried okra was very good, could have used a little seasoning though.

The platter itself was also clearly prepared beforehand and reheated, though most of it wasn’t too bad. The catfish was pretty good. Freshly cooked would have been better. The sausage was pretty good, but tasted like kielbasa. I like kielbasa, but that isn’t what I was expecting. The chicken was alright, honestly nothing to rave about, but I’d order it again. The baby back ribs were extremely dry and tough. The flavors were great, just unappealing texture. The pulled pork was barely room temperature, but I tried it and it tasted good. The cornbread was ice cold, like it had just been pulled out of the fridge (probably was). That was the only issue I mentioned to the waitress, who quickly got me another cornbread muffin, which was microwaved, but still tasted quite good. The hot sauce they brought was basically franks red hot, or some similar brand. It was basic vinegar based hot sauce. Not bad.

My mother ordered fried chicken, baby back ribs ribs, gumbo, and mashed potatoes and gravy. She quite liked everything, except the gumbo had soggy odd textured rice at the bottom, probably because it had been refrigerated for a day or two and the rice absorbed much more liquid than if it had been stored separately from the gumbo base. (Suggestion)

All in all, not terrible, but not great. I’ll definitely come back, and order something different. I’d recommend giving it a try if you like southern/soul food.

The food here is absolutely amazing, it’s like a warm hug for your soul. The service is top-notch, and the food is just delicious. We usually visit on the weekends, and it’s quite busy, especially when we come for dinner. Finding parking can be a bit of a challenge since it’s street parking only. Last time, we had to park a few blocks away and take a walk to get to the restaurant.

What I really appreciate is the restaurant’s vibrant paint job and the lively colors inside. It adds a fantastic atmosphere to the dining experience. I can’t resist coming back here every time I’m in Appleton; it’s just that good.

I have been wanting to go to The Cozzy Corner since Wisconsin foodie featured them on tv. I waited a long time to make it here and it did not disappoint!!! Let’s start with the atmosphere the soul consumes this place as soon as you walk in, beautiful murals, and beautiful people greeting you as you sit down. Next stop is the food! Ohh my lord! The food is over the top! Flavors, the love and the soul that goes into the food makes the name fit. The Cozzy Corner is a place of love, great food and great atmosphere. When you walk in all are welcome and all will not leave hungry. It would be so cool to do a kitchen tour and watch the master in the kitchen throw down and make these amazing creations! We don’t have many soul food places in Wisconsin and boy are we lucky to have this one! I give The Cozzy Corner 1000 stars!

New to the area and was looking for a BBQ joint I can call my new go to place. NOT here. 🙁 I ordered a 2 meat and sides plate. The ribs were old, burnt and inedible. The sausage wasn’t sliced which took away from the eating experience. The beans were ok. Nothing to jump up and down about. The nav and cheese was ok as well. Lastly, I tried reaching out to the restaurant via email on their website and also the response form on their website but haven’t heard back from them in over a week.
