This was my first time trying The Cowboy Tavern. We arrived around 10;45 am. on a Tuesday. We were the only customers in the restaurant. I ordered the basic breakfast. I thought my breakfast was average. They did forget the biscuits and gravy. The gravy wasn’t very hot and below average gravy. The coffee was good but not great. My friends breakfast was a customized omelet, which was very good but they didn’t give him the correct potatoes. I guess we picked the wrong day to try this restaurant. For being so slow, I was expecting exceptional food and service.

Stopped here for breakfast upon a visit to nearby Vasquez Rocks. This was a great find given the dearth of eateries in town. The meal was exceptional with generous portion size and very reasonable pricing. Service was friendly and attentive. The locals are fortunate to have this one so close to home.

I came to have dinner here. Normally, the food is great, but unfortunately, one of the dishes I ordered was not too sanitary (shrimp), so it was a bit frustrating. The service is good it’s a clean area, and it can get a bit rowdy, but it’s all good.
