My wife and I tried The Cove last week. Once we were reseated away from the gore on the TV, we were visited by three large dogs roaming freely in the restaurant. One went under our table and stood on my wife’s feet. Another lifted his snout to the table to sniff the oysters. The waiter petted one of them as he carried our food to the table. When my wife remarked on his hygiene, he snapped back “we’re a dog-friendly place.” All of the dogs appeared to belong to the staff. Her raw oysters tasted metallic. The bacon on my pizza should have been prosciutto – Italian bacon – but it was ordinary hickory smoked strips. We won’t be back.

Happy hour isnt the best–cheaper well drinks only but you can’t beat the service especially the bar tenders and we loved the atmosphere. They have a great Mediterranean plate and awesome pizzas plus they’re dog-friendly! This place feels a lot like a local pub despite the somewhat silly pirate association.

Drink prices are ridiculous, bartenders are rude. Too crowded. Came to support musician friends, $10/pp cover, then it just got worse. Bartenders yelling at people to clear a walk way, but nobody had nowhere to go. Will not return.

I love this place, the cocktails are great and so is the food! I’ve tried quite a few things and have not been disappointed yet!! They play jazz every Sunday and Thursday, and some Friday’s. Last Friday Phoenix 901 rocked the house, and boy did they rock it! They were so good. I’m a repeat customer, for sure!

Came this past weekend with my sister. Wasn’t there long but the time we did spend was relaxing. Everything is open, everyone is up and moving around, very fluid. Bartenders were cool and the atmosphere was welcoming. We had a few drinks. One was suggested, a rum and ginger beer mix, the other, a simple crown and coke. Both were good. Will be back soon!

Good bar for absinthe and Tom Waits’ songs. Haven’t had any of the food. I love the vibe and décor.

Un desirable oysters. Pizza was good. Sevice… not so much from one staff who tried to explain the style of oysters to me like I was a child and uncultured.

Enjoyed the live jazz but a little disappointed in the menu. Anticipated much more seafood with consideration of the restaurant’s theme. Cocktails were very good.

DO IT! If you’re unfamiliar with the area but seeking a “familiar feeling” place to grab a drink and grub, this is the spot. The Cove offers “hole in the wall” character, great staff, asthetics, awesome food, and the owner’s super friendly dog, George! Visited a few days ago, and Brandon was an amazing server!
