The Courthouse Cafe on the square in Portales, NM is a casual cafe, coffee shop and bakery. We are very proud to bring the community a wonderful experience. Along with our fresh baked goodies in the bakery we cook our own meats and make fresh salads and soups daily. We have become quite famous for our chips that are made fresh to order. We greet everyone with a smile and treat you like you are family while you enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

Popped in for a Saturday lunch while traveling and loved the chill vibe and laid back staff. You order at the counter, they bring you the food after you’re seated and you do you’re own clean up this the lower score for service. Otherwise staff was efficient and friendly. Sandwiches weregood, bread was really good. My wife received the wrong soup but ate it anyway and it was fine. Overall value is reasonable and a relaxing way to grab a meal.

The food was amazing!!! The cookies were delish too. We were traveling to Amarillo and needed a place to stop and eat along the way. Happened upon this place in the small town of Portales, and the food did not disappoint. The only thing is I wish the young lady who attended us had a better attitude. The customer service was lacking. Having never been to this establishment, she offered no help. Could’ve been more helpful and pretended that she wanted to be there and serve, especially spending over $70 for 4 people.

Ordered in person for carry out. The place was not very crowded.
The food was made fresh, so it was a little bit of a wait. Still, the wait was not too long.
My husband ate his burger and there was a hair in it. Mary, was so kind and apologetic and gave us a new burger.
All the food was delicious. We ordered the Billy the Kid Burger, The accountant, the parole board, and the Havana sandwich. All the food was great.
Excellent service and the staff is responsible.

My kids and I loved this place. The food was really good and affordable, and the cold brew was good and I’m kinda picky! The kids had fun with the arcade games and ride on toys! We also got some of the cupcakes and they were delicious and looked awesome! Also the staff was really really nice!!
