I eat out at a lot of restaurants. This was my first and last time I will eat here! The fish was not cooked long enough. The breading on the oysters and shrimp were coming off. They had food that was hard as a freaking rock. Maybe reheated or left up there for hours. The waiter was not attentive, too busy at a table sitting down with a man. My total for me and my Dad was $58.00 for food that was garbage. I tried to support, but they need old cooks instead of teenagers in the kitchen. The owner even told us that the staff was new and a bunch of school kids. SMH

I am not big on leaving reviews, but I felt it important to share my family’s experience last night. We were so excited to get back here since it recently reopened.
First, they only had 2 options either country or seafood Buffett, which both comes with the salad bar.
We had a senior seafood Buffett, 1 kids seafood, 1 kids country, and 1 adult seafood buffets, our bill was $92 and we were all very disappointed. I don’t mind spending money when the food is great but for the price it’s definitely not worth it.
All off our food was cold, the fish was very thin and cooked hard as a rock, most of the food appeared as if had been sitting there all afternoon and they had just opened so it was apparently left over from the night before. My daughter said that the fries were even awful.
I’m very sad to say that we will not be returning.

Had dinner there yesterday, with my family. It was horrible! The food was cold, and there was no seasoning on anything, the buffet was dark and there didn’t seem to be any working warmers. The prices advertised on their FB page are not current prices, you have to check the chalkboard for the menu, and price. The shrimp scampi reminded me of old bay, then placed in melted butter. We should have just left when we saw the buffet. I will say the service was great, but the food was overpriced and sucked.
We won’t go back.

Went for the seafood buffet. My coffee table is bigger than their seafood buffet. No peel and eat shrimp and that is I went, even though it was listed they had them. Oysters were horrible (fried) very tuff. Shrimp scampi not good. The scallops were overcooked, my fork had a hard time stabbing those little bitty things. Probably fake scallops made from plugs from shark tails. Had to ask what some food was and I still was questioning if that was what it was. Probably wont go back cause I can get better seafood at a much lower price and better quality food.

We awaited eagerly to try the new opening of the country kitchen and it was exactly why we had hoped for. Phenomenal experience, food was fresh and very good.the Staff was amazing our server phenomenal , the refresh of the restaurant is very well done and most of all the owner takes the time to check on his customers and is very professional and humble. We definitely will be back and we highly recommend to anyone that is interested in trying the restaurant out

Worst experience ever ! Drove all the way from Macon. Cold food, nothing on advertised menu on the bar or most items missing; conflict in pricing ; one was charged 15.99 and she got catfish and yet I was charged fully(I won’t play the race game but definitely seemed that way); although advertised new; the place is old and unclean ; it was just awful the entire experience; I wanted to get up like the other couple an just leave; the FOOD WAS the staff was also unprofessional….not kind, loud, I give one star for the strawberry cake

We arrived at 6:15 told the hostess there were 2 persons finally got called at 6:30 only to be told we had to sit back down they had made a mistake after which time they called groups that came in AFTER we had already been there for 30 minutes (the hostess initially told us 5-10 minutes). I cannot rate the food due to the fact I NEVER got seated I am a cancer patient and I have to eat somewhat on a schedule maybe after the growing pains it will be better I don’t know

My wife and I have been looking forward to trying CK after the new owner “updated” the place. We walked in on Saturday @ 3pm right when they opened. We both got the $30+ seafood buffet. Disappointment is too mild of a term in expressing our satisfaction with the food. The shrimp, every type of shrimp served (peel & eat, fried, scampi), were virtually unseasoned and overcooked to the point the shrimp could have been used to plug a hole in a tire. The scallops, tiny Bay scallops not the bigger Gulf scallops, were chewy and absolutely devoid of any taste and reminded us of the erasers in a #2 pencil. The spaghetti looked like it had sat under a heat lamp for an hour before being placed on the buffet. It had a crust of hardened noodles that had to be hacked through to find a less solid mush. We had to ask an employee to identify the mashed potatoes and something on the meat section that neither me, my wife, nor the employees could identify. To say the food was disastrous doesn’t convey the depth of dissatisfaction we felt, not to mention paying $65 for the dubious distinction of dining here.
My wife and I were discussing this dining disaster and we both agreed we should have known better. We have known the individual who bought the CK and this tracked with all of the previous restaurants they own or have owned over the past two decades or so. They bought several restaurants that had good reps for good food and refocused them to ensure profits above all else. They do this by using suppliers that provide lower quality food, preprocessed/prepped/frozen food at a lower price and raise the menu prices. So the special character and menu of their restaurants evaporates into a bland, tasteless, generic mush. So I guess Spalding, Lamar, Butts, and Pike counties once again get the short end of the stick when it comes to improved dining.
Having said all of this, I must say that our waitress and the other workers were all very nice and overall very attentive. Hence the second star.
Any review prior to November 2025 covers the previous owners and not the current ones.
In short, my patronage of CK can best be described in three words: One and Done.
