The calamari is gluten free. It tasted good but was too salty. Next time I’ll ask to hold the salt.
Update: we went to a wedding last night. The food was amazing and the whole affair was well done. The short rib and the buttermilk dressing were to die for.

A sheet of music as you gaze over the list of notes to select from. Especially if you bend your Pallet on the bourbon side of things.
The sip swerved into the appatizer array of cheese trays, Brussel sprouts, and a surprisingly amazing delight of crab dip.
Points for Delaware in doing it better than Maryland and Maine! The private dinner was made up of crab cakes, filet mignon, and sides that were quite well as they plated perfectly. A nice little nook to enjoy whether you’re getting a room, or just playfully passing by.

For starters, the selecting of the bourbon for my old fashion took longer than expected. Due to a lost if multiple selections worth indulging in. Finally decided to do the rabbit hole. This savory sip slide into the start of the meal with a cheese tray, Brussel sprouts, and a crab dip that was surprisingly better than most I’ve indulged in. Points to Delaware for winning that over Maryland and Maine! Everyone in the private wedding party got crab cakes and filet mignon. The kids got chicken tenders and the bacon wrapped Bison blend Meatloaf. The sides were delicious and the whole meal was attentively done by great staff!

Three times a charm! We had tried to eat here 2x before. Once in January but they did not have prime rib every day, one time for lunch, made reservations online only to find when we arrived that they were closed for lunch. Friday night was our 3rd attempt. Food was really good everyone was satisfied with their meal. I had the crab cakes, they were good but a little small for the price and each bite had little bits of shell in them. Not that a piece of shell does not happen occasionally but this was a bit excessive. The mac and cheese was delicious! My husband had the prime rib and he loved it! I understand they are open for lunch now so hoping to return in the future. We are locals.

The Mother’s Day brunch was fantastic! The buffets were loaded with all the usual brunch suspects. All were delicious, but my plate was full of small portions of everything BEFORE we got to the room where they had a beautiful lay out of different kinds of seafood! All of the food was amazing!
And service was its usual friendly, attentive self. I can’t imagine another restaurants in the area having a better Mother’s Day brunch! They may have been as good, but not better. So glad we made the choice of The Counting House for Mother’s Day. We enjoyed everything immensely!

The hotel is awesome! It’s a nice change from the chain hotels I normally say in. The balcony overlooking the circle is a major plus. I decided to eat in their restaurant. It started out rough… I ordered the blue cheese wedge and they did something to the bacon with vinegar that in my world was just wrong… I ask if I could swap it out and with no complaint or hesitation I quickly got a house salad that was amazing, freash, and really good… Then I ordered the oyster stew… This is the reason I’ll be coming back! It had nice chunks of oysters, perfect thickness, and an full flavor. Finally I order some crispy wings and there was nothing unique about them to set them apart, but they were still very good if you’re in the mood for Wings. If not for my low carb diet I would have order desert because what I saw others ordering looked really big and really good. My server was very kind, accommodating, and my cup was never empty. I Highly recommended the Brick.

Anyone who has spent time at the French Laundry usually has some culinary skills. Definitely enjoyed some next level food here as well. The food was cooked perfect with great flavors and its the little details with each dish that elevate the chef in my opinion. Shishito peppers, buffalo meatloaf and mushroom risotto all were great. My only complaint was the larger portion sizes made us too full for dessert. That is a good complaint!

The waitress had great timing throughout the meal. The menu had nice options that were not completely usual. The food was obviously cooked with care. We had calamari, dove, venison, and filet mignon. We were sat and served a great meal with nice service. This was one of the nicest dining out meals I have ever had. It was worth the money! 100% Highly recommended for a special meal out.

First time at The Counting House for what was an advertised Easter Brunch.
One had to have a reservation so management knew how many diners were expected.
We had a short wait for our table to be ready for our party of 8.
We went up to buffet with anticipation of getting the advertised seafood of shrimp cocktail, crab legs, mussels etc. None were available when someone in our party mentioned the disappointment of no seafood she was told by curt female staffer she was lucky there was any food for us. What? At $30 dollars a head and you know many are coming why should we feel lucky there was food.
No one came to pick up used dishes and we asked for water several times with a certainly I will get that right away. An hour later we still had no water.
I believe they should have hired bus people to remove dishes and have water fillers on hand.
We won’t be dining there again.
8 disappointed diners.
