This has always been a decent local place to grab something to eat. The staff is very friendly and attentive while avoid the hovering feeling. The food menu is simple and should suffice for those wanting to eat lite or something a bit more robust. The interior is relaxing but requires serious dusting, fixing of wallpaper in the entry and replacement of the out of place 5,000k led bulbs that I assume were accidentally purchased instead of the more warm color bulbs that are used.

My recent visit to Cottage Restaurant left me feeling extremely disappointed and frustrated due to the way they handled a situation involving a service dog in their outdoor dining area. As a staunch advocate for inclusivity and accessibility, I believe it’s crucial for businesses to uphold the rights of patrons with disabilities and their service animals.

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch at The Cottage on a beautiful summer afternoon. The restaurant is bright and immaculate. Although there is a lovely outdoor patio, we chose to dine inside. We were greeted by the lovely hostess, Sarah who allowed us to choose our own table. Our server, Nery was outstanding. She was very patient, helpful with the menu and suggested the calamari appetizer which was excellent. The healthy and delicious stuffed avocado salad and tuna melt were both generous portions. The avocado salad was the best!!! We shared our compliments with the manager Malek and chef Christian and learned about the secrets behind some of the menu items. Memorable lunch with professional and friendly staff. Grazie Mille!

This place is fine. It’s cute – in Wellesley but it’s pretty overpriced. No surprise there. The food is okay nothing crazy. The drinks are also fine. It’s good for a drink and an app once in a while.

Usually The Cottage serves up great food, and the burgers and fries were great, but we ordered the “special app” that they referred to as “Arancini” on the menu, and I don’t know what these are, but they’re not arancini. They are a fried rice ball, but there’s some mysterious meat inside (chicken? crab? fish? no idea), and they are slathered in a bacon-onion gravy. They are no longer crispy from the fatty gravy they’re covered and soaking in, and they are dominantly bacon. We do not eat bacon and cannot get past the smell. We tried cracking one open to see if the center could be scooped out, but with the mystery meat, we’re wary of that too. I’m not even sure the coating is breadcrumb. Arancini are supposed to be stuffed with rice and cheese, coated in breadcrumbs, and fried until crispy! They’re served with a tomato sauce … not gravy. I don’t what these are other than not getting eaten.

Our first visit. Nice setting, the menu looked good but the food was disappointing. Burger was rare – ordered mw / server never came back to check. Everyone finished by the time my burger was returned (and served without condiments). Fish tacos bland. The high note was the fries! Wow

It gives me no pleasure to give The Cottage, one of my favorite restaurants in Wellesley for the past decade, a bad review.
