We are a counter-style breakfast and lunch restaurant, specializing in homemade breads, cinnamon rolls and other baked goods. Our breakfast and lunch menu is centered around the breads, biscuits and buns we bake daily in-house. Breakfast is served all day and includes classic staples like pancakes, French toast, and biscuits and gravy. We have a few classic lunch offerings, including burgers, BLTs, salads and soup, beginning daily at 11am until close. We do have gluten-free and vegetarian options available. Come in and see us!

My roommate and I picked up her best friend on Puget Sound, after a very cool ferry ride (I’m new to this area and it was way exciting for me)! We drove to The Cottage Bread and Breakfast for a late lunch.
The server at the counter was welcoming, friendly and helpful.
I ordered the special, the chicken salad sandwich on toasted sour dough bread.
Hands down, it was the BEST chicken salad and chicken salad sandwich I’ve ever had. (And I consider myself a good cook, so I tend to be bias.)
My roommate ordered chicken fried steak and her friend ordered chicken fried steak and gravy, all pictured.
Not sure what the chicken dishes cost, however my sandwich was super reasonable at $12.
Not only that, I was able to take it home, to enjoy the next day, for lunch, since it’s a good size and they serve it with delicously thin french fries.
I also bought and took home a sour dough loaf of bread, just baked that day. Their bread is amazing, also!
I would travel an hour just to order their chicken salad sandwich, it was THAT GREAT!

Love this Place! Dropped by because we were driving by and missed lunch and glad we did. Great food and the nicest owner, waitress you’ll find. I had the special, Chicken Pot Pie and it was big enough I had the other half for dinner the next day. My lady had a burrito that was one of the best she’s ever tasted.
Now just got to figure a reason to go this way again to try their breakfast.

Wonderful food, people, and atmosphere. We LOVE the self serve coffee and water station, it’s the only way we can get our fill of coffee for the day. The bread is to die for, including the English muffins and home made biscuits. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Thank you for serving this community!

Always a great experience at the Cottage. Came today during the lunch rush and was impressed by the level of professionalism and quality that the team maintained even when there were tons of customers to serve. And, I was impressed by how fast my food arrived despite the restaurant being nearly full. The kitchen team must have been hauling back there!
The family-friendly environment here is unparalleled. It’s great to be able to take little ones here knowing that there will be clean highchairs and kid-friendly food options (although honestly, my one-year-old toddler loves every food she’s tried here).
As for the specific dishes I tried today, the biscuits and sausage gravy were delicious (flaky biscuits! perfectly seasoned gravy!) and the house salad was everything I was craving (so fresh! such yummy dressing!). You can clearly see the chef’s attention to detail reflected in the dishes.
My only regret is that I didn’t get to thank the chef personally for another delicious meal in his restaurant today. Can’t wait for our next visit.

We had breakfast at The Cottage Bread and Breakfast twice during our vacation in Cathlamet, and everything was amazing! The staff was so friendly, the service was great, and the food was incredible! On our first visit, we had the gluten-free Eggs Benedict and it was so yummy! We were also thrilled to find gluten-free options since both my husband and I are gluten free. Our kiddos loved their pancakes! We can’t wait to come back next time we’re in town!

Hands down the best place for Breakfast! Well worth the drive as we live in Rainier Oregon. My guy ordered chicken fried steak and it came with potatoes country gravy homemade sourdough bread. Potatoes were rich in flavor, country gravy actually had sausage in it, the chicken fried steak perfect cut tender and yummy! I had biscuit n gravy with sausage patty absolutely beyond delish with yummy in every bite! Great food great service and wonderful atmosphere! Wishing we had more places like this!
