Great friendly staff and awesome chicken pot pie! The flaky phyllo dough is in the middle of a gravylishious chicken pot pie instead of under and around keeping it crispy and buttery. Highly recommend. You also can’t beat the brunch deal $16 for Bloody Mary and full breakfast. The beer is also not overpriced like some other bars in Weymouth. This is my new favorite spot 🙂

Fáilte abhaile! A gem shines in Weymouth…As you walk in, you will feel the opening of the heart(h). I was greeted and welcomed right over the threshold. The walls were smartly decorated with memorabilia from Ireland, but also the local area. There were kids, families, dogs…and music. Basically people sang, ate, and spread merriment. If that is not the trinity of a good establishment, then what is?. The first order of business was to have a drink, not on the lash though. So, I had a Bramble whilst my fellow Romans had Guiness…when just west of Derry…you do what you do. I know a bramble is an English drink I know…sigh, but Sláinte anyhow. One of my friends ordered a martini called a pornstar, it was to sweet for her.

As for the servers, they were very patient and had a bit of the gas…but we were acting the maggots. To settle myself from my merriment, I had some cheesy curry fries (A). Once upon the table, the bowl soon disappeared after my friends devoured them. Plenty of gooey cheese and thick cut fries. I dredge one through ketchup…before you condemn me as a heretic, it was amazing. An experiment that was a success. The servers just to bring this full circle were awesome.”Fair play, you did a great job!

So as the hour was upon us of noon, it seemed logical to order a proper Irish Breakfast known in Ireland as drumroll, Breakfast…well a fry-up…but my joke was funny…so think I…anyways soon plates of eggs cooked to order (I saw poached eggs, medium hard, over easy, sunny side up) with: toast (perfect for dredging in left over curry sauce or dunking in lovely sunny side egg yolk), beans, grilled mushroom, grilled tomato, black and white pudding, Irish Bangers, Irish Bacon, and Hashbrowns (you could order home fries)…we ordered a side of corned beef hash. It was all more than grand. I saw good looking cottage pies pass by as well as: bar pizzas and lots of other delights. My friend’s daughter order light airy Waffles with nutella…she ate half and smuggled the rest home.

This is a phenomenal place. You can see the pride of the owner and his team at this place.

The hooley ended for us just about 2 pm. My bill came to 172.00 minus tip (Waffles with Nutella ($14), Six Irish Breakfasts ($18), Curry Fries ($9), Hash ($4) plus drinks. We spent $215 total. We left happy and perhaps a little wiser than when we walked in.

The jacks (The toilet) was spacious and clean.

Lots of tvs. I was able to watch some Rugby. My friend Tom went to sing with band.

So what is the Craic? This Public house called The Cottage Bar and Restraunt. It was just a really really nice family time. The owner, Mickey was just a great guy during our time!

This place is a solid A plus ☘️

We’ve been here quite a few times. Their curry is to die for, I dip their super yummy fries in it. Please don’t ever change the fries or curry! lol. My daughter devours the Mac & Cheese. My fiancé loves their Irish sausage. Would love to spend a St. Patty’s Day here but there always understandably packed! One day

We live about 35 minutes away, but craved a full Irish breakfast and this seemed the most authentic and it was! The interior is inviting, tastefully decorated and there’s an overall relaxing and friendly vibe to the place.

The Guinness was perfect, the coffee less so, but my other half thought 1030am a bit early for a pint. The Irish breakfast was huge and delicious. Great value too. We relaxed and were never rushed. Servers were friendly. We will definitely repeat the journey to this charming bar and restaurant. The overall breakfast menu is creative and extensive and portions all seem generous.

Great place. Possibly the best fish and chips in south shore. Good menu. I actually feel like I’m back in Ireland. I’ll say though that since like a year ago portions are getting smaller and at the same time prices are going up… do one but not both and I don’t appreciate that.

Best place around to grab a full Irish breakfast. Was so happy to see they open at 7am on the weekends for breakfast. Kevin the bartender was incredibly kind and extremely on top of everything. Loved the whole experience.

Fabulous comfort food in a cozy pub environment. My friend had chicken pot pie, the crust was perfect! The pot pie was flavorful, the chicken perfectly done. I had some beef pie/Shepherd’s Pie dish and it was great! All of the flavors were well balanced. Good levels of protein and veggies in both pies. My friend loved her mixed drink. The interior of the restaurant is a little worn, but nice. They have reclaimed church pews as bench seats. Will return.

Had dinner here tonight, because of its close proximity to South Shore Hospital .
We arrived at 630pm. And figured it would be a while due to it being a Saturday and the time.
We were seated immediately, had great service and fantastic food!
We ordered fish & chips, and burger, steak tips and the fish sandwich with chowder.
We all loved our meals!
Portions were huge. Quality ingredients.
Definitely recommend!.
