Reviews
Astetically the place still maintained the charm. The service was excellent, from the hostess – manager Tirra – and our server Annalise….so freaking awesome!
Unfortunately the food…oh the food…so disappointing….I usually check reviews, this time I didn’t…..I should have…so many reviews point out the same problem with the food, but do mention the amazing staff….I dont understand why they wouldn’t address this huge problem….but it remains…
My wagu burger was cold, tasteless and the fries had absolutely no life, plus they were sparse….the Zucchini Chips were also flat and also vold and had no flavor. The Pumpkin Soup and Chicken Sandwich were good.
The server recognized our dissatisfaction and brought over the manager who definitely tried to make things right offering us to replace any items. We were not interested, so she did the right thing and took two items off the menu.
I do hope that they eventually correct whatever disconnect is going on in the kitchen. I truly do wish them the best.
Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the ambiance. The mushroom ravioli was the best of the items we ordered but the portion was small; the rest were fine but not outstanding. The quality did not quite match the pricing.
The food was delicious and the atmosphere and decor of the place was wonderful.
We came with our puppy who was greeted with water and love, which was really amazing and much appreciated
Our Molly server was phenomenal.
She went further and further out to make sure our table was well-groomed. I can’t say enough about her very positive attitude and very friendly approach.
If you ever hit a restaurant, definitely ask for Molly.
Great experience and I would definitely recommend this place.
We had the pleasure of dining at The Cornell Restaurant and Bar on a stunningly beautiful day, and it was an absolute delight from start to finish. The restaurant’s lovely deck and outdoor seating right by the water created the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed and enjoyable meal.
The food was impeccable, with each dish offering a memorable experience. One friend savored the Prime Rib Sandwich with seasoned fries, which he found absolutely delicious. His wife relished both the Vegetable Dumplings and Pork Dumplings, praising their outstanding flavors. My sister enjoyed the Angry Tuna Roll and Korean Fried Chicken, both of which were bursting with bold, satisfying flavors. Another friend opted for the Fried Chicken Sandwich, which came with tasty fries that rounded out the meal beautifully. As for me, I had the Fish & Chips—an incredible dish with a thin, flaky batter that encased tender, meaty fish. It was a true highlight of the meal.
What truly set the experience apart, however, was the exceptional service. Our server, Juliana, was everything you’d hope for in a dining experience at a restaurant of this caliber. Polite, friendly, and incredibly attentive despite having several tables to manage, she made us feel like her top priority. Her warmth and professionalism elevated the entire experience, and we will absolutely be requesting her table the next time we visit. The supporting staff were all in supporting each other.
The Cornell Restaurant and Bar excels in its combination of delectable food, picturesque ambiance, and outstanding hospitality. I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone seeking a wonderful dining experience by the water!
Cons: very slow service, 40 mins for our food to come out and only one other table was seated, food is mediocre, the oysters we ordered never came. You are asked to pay with an app – fun.
Feels like it was just converted into something (from the BBQ place and before that, a dance club) to make a profit from its beautiful interior and location on the waterfront.
Waited 40 minutes to be sat when there were multiple empty tables. Disorganized, lack of communication between servers and bussers and management. Asked for items like salt and pepper, ketchup or drinks and waited 15-20 minutes for water. Hoping they get it together because this was a family tradition for us at Old Savannah, I would hate to see it go…Will give it time and try again. Update. Owner responded to “make things right” we emailed a couple times and was told I would receive an e-gift card which never came.” I have tried to contact them to provide a better review, but never heard back again. Maybe there is new management.
