I’ve made a terrible mistake. For the life of me I am not sure why this place was not on my radar sooner, but my wife suggested it for our anniversary dinner. After reviewing the menu and pics we gladly made the reservation.

The Commodore is a beautiful, historic restaurant with a menu offering a variety of unique, high-quality dishes and drinks. The prices are high, but relatively standard for the quality and atmosphere, and the friendly staff help to make the experience memorable and worthwhile.

Very nice place,we’ve been here a few times and the food is always excellent. we had duck chowder, lobster devilled eggs, a new York strip and trout. Not to mention a number of “take it for pomegranates” service was impeccable and the food was amazing. Go here you won’t regret it. Loved the cocktails this time 🙂

Love the cocktails here, the servers are incredibly knowledgeable about the drink program as well as the storied history of the Commodore. Went there after dinner, otherwise I would have probably wanted more than just the fried curd. There were 7 of us and we each ordered different drinks and they were all excellent balanced and delicious.

A really swanky place, replete with silver-framed mirrored hallways and walls, to a Deco bar that will make you catch your breath. Dine here, lounge here, cocktail here, be seen here…it’s a luxurious getaway with that speakeasy feel that gangster-era St. Paul is famous for. Happy hours are best…but an hour is best if you’re feeling like sporting for something decadent. Casual, dress-up, or just hanging with your friends, you’ll find the Commodore more than a little welcoming.

You can tell this place is full of a rich history. You can almost see the prominent people from earlier eras walking around. I attended a wedding party here that I’ll never forget. I had a flat iron steak dinner with fries and my significant other had the most amazing pork chop I have ever had in my life. The mixologist was able to whip up whatever cocktail I wanted immediately. The deserts were off the charts, those pumpkin pie tarts WoW. The room we were located in was the perfect size for a party. It was inviting you to get up and dance. The wedding party had a great pianist with a grand piano. Later in the evening a live band played some really nice music. Everything came together so perfectly for the most memorable evening. The staff was friendly and actually wanted to provide you with a great time.

They have AMAZING food. It’s worth the price. They have great cocktails, a nice wine and beer selection and great, friendly service. The inside of the building is absolutely gorgeous! It’s a classy place! They have a room for banquets, too. This isn’t the best place for kids, but it is very fun for adults. It’s also a very romantic place, great for dates!

Now the Red Cow, I was on a casual business dinner and this place was a great choice. Superb service, and the best gluten free bun I’ve ever tried!

M wife and I came here for drinks for our 10 year anniversary. What a gem! Our bartender Jason went above and beyond our expectations with offering us advice on drinks and prompt service. A wonderful experience and I would highly recommend the Commodore as a late night cocktail stop, especially for the gin aficionado.
