Located on the shores of Nagawicka Lake in the heart of Lake Country, The Commodore – A Bartolotta Restaurant inhabits the historic property that first opened in 1902 as the Pleasant View Hotel and Resort and was most recently the Seven Seas for nearly four decades. The Commodore – A Bartolotta Restaurant embraces the historical significance of the past with modern touches of elegance. The unique, expansive property has been thoughtfully reimagined to include a remarkable suite of dining and event experiences, including a restaurant, intimate private dining rooms, and expansive outdoor space for groups and gatherings.

Tonight we enjoyed the Commodore Cares Friday Night Fish Fry. This evening the chosen charity was The Food Pantry of Waukesha County. $3 of each dinner was donated here, which I really appreciate. Other evenings throughout Lent will support different organizations. For $30, we enjoyed a wide-ranging buffet which included clam chowder, salad, potato pancakes, fish tenders, small red potatoes, pearl carrots, and a variety of desserts. Every dish was done well, which is not always easy with a buffet. Always replenished and hot, even the potato pancakes and fried fish were wonderfully crispy. TWe took our time and enjoyed each course, and also the ability to have easy conversations in a nicely quiet room. The Old Fashioned drinks were done well, and the entire evening was very nice.
The fish buffet was held upstairs with a beautiful view of Nagawicka Lake. The tables are spaced apart nicely and the service was attentive. It might have been better to have at least one more server, but Michelle did her best to give attention to her many tables.
There is an elevator for those who need accessibility, as well as restrooms that are spacious for wheelchair access. There is plenty of parking.

Went for dinner last night and had a wonderful experience! Our server Brittany was extremely attentive, knowledgeable & very friendly! John the manager checked in on our table and genuinely cared about how everything was. Their friendliness added a nice personal touch to the evening. Everything food wise was excellent but my main highlights were the steak tartar and the lobster tail. Looking forward to coming back.

Beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service. The scallops and Wagyu Ribeye were superb – best steak I’ve had in the greater Milwaukee area. My wife had the duck, which was above average, but not as good compared to the other items. The dessert was also great – both the butter cake and chocolate cake.

Fine dining with great service and food! We had the bisque, loaded. Caesar salad, the croutons were spectacular! Butterfly kisses mocktail, basically elevated lemonade, it was good! Florida grouper 10/10, cooked to perfection and the sauce, caramelized fennel, almonds and grapes, they were in harmony. Roasted duck breast was also wonderful (according to my husband). The chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream. Omg! so good! Thank you for your warm hospitality! We will be back

W0W!! I had been here more than once when it was Weissgerber’s Seven Seas and didn’t know what to expect. I was astonished by the classy and sophisticated improvements the Bartolotta’s have made here. We had an excellent time seated by the windows overlooking the lake. Our servers were patient without being obsequious. Everything was charmingly decorated for the holidays. It was cozy and elegant at the same time. The oysters were clean and crisp. We both enjoyed our entrees as well. Do you have a special occasion coming up? GO HERE. You will not be disappointed! If I could give more ⭐ I would!

Outstanding experience!
Appetizer- Artisanal Cheese. Trinity Gouda and Dill Havarti are good.
Soup- Shrimp and Crab Bisque. One loaded, one not. Get the loaded! Made a big difference.
Entree- Filet Oscar and Prime Filet, medium rare. Steaks and potatoes were great. Spinach wasn’t really our thing.
Desert- cheesecake and chocolate cake. Both great!

Loved dining at the Commodore. Started at the bar for a drink, which took some time for the bar tender to talk to us, but then the service became top notch once seated for dinner. The food was delicious and no delays in service. Would go back to try the beef wellington!

The setting and the interior is beautiful. Service was outstanding. Unfortunately the food was a mixed bag. Our party of six had one excellent meal (Cornish Game Hen), 3 good meals (Tuesday Veal Marsala) and 2 poor meals (Halibut Ratatouille and 8 oz Steak were both way overcooked) Brussel sprouts vegetable side was not edible I won’t be rushing back.

As a wedding photographer, The Commodore is one of those venues that truly has it all. The staff is friendly, organized, and incredibly helpful, which makes the day run smoothly and allows everyone to stay present and relaxed.
From a photography perspective, the lake views are absolutely gorgeous and provide a stunning backdrop throughout the day. The outdoor ceremony space is beautiful, and the sunset photos on the piers are a standout every single time.
It is a joy to photograph weddings at The Commodore, and it is a venue I always love recommending to my couples.
