The Colonnade is an intimate fine dining experience located within The Hope and Glory Inn. 18 ft ceilings and 10 Doric columns frame the room along with a baby grand piano, a grand staircase, an espresso bar, a full service bar (Detention) and a gift shop. The Colonnade offers dinner Thursday-Sunday with two seatings per night (6:30 and 7) and a four course prix fixe menu. Your table is yours for the evening and we limit our dinner guests to 18. Plan on a 2 – 21/2 hours for dinner – it’s an experience. Reservations are required. The menu changes seasonally and can be found on the hotel’s website under Dining.

What a lovely and memorable evening we had at Hope & Glory Inn in Irvington, VA. The beautiful venue, the hospitality and the cuisine prepared for us were all absolutely exceptional. This Inn is absolutely a gem and a must see if you visit the Northern Neck of Virginia.

What a special place the Hope and Glory. Our fine dining experience was lovely… sensitively presented and the chef followed through with all of the promises described. With time and experience, I appreciate consistency more and more. Achieving that level of tenderness with a steak, the delicate balance of herb to sweet and savory, and a dash of originality, along with a local specialty – the oysters- all components of a great meal that I will remember for years to come. Bravo!

Attened and all inclusive dinner, including champagne service “from arrival to departure”. We were not served champagne…but British sparkling wine. The staff was insistent that we buy additional booze….to the point I had to ask for sparkling wine and send away the waitress pushing bottles of wine. The dinner was sold as limited seating…it was not. 10 extra people showed up 45 mins late. This completely threw off the kitchen. We waited ages for food…and sparkling wine. My duck was horrible…the skins was pale and rubber…never crisped. “Seasonal veggie”, in January, steamed green beans….Um not really green bean season. The whole event was complete chaos. We were never provided a bill, even after I asked…they just charged the credit card. And over charged by $50. I assume this is for the bottle of wine I refused to buy. And Michelin start? Not even in the same galaxy.

My spouse and I came here for our wedding anniversary. The food was exceptional. Literally it was the meal of my dreams. And I have been to Michelin star restaurants. This meal ranked among them. The chef is a beautiful human. She spoke to all of us at the end of the meal and it was so clear she cooked us this amazing meal from her heart. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

What a wonderful experience. The menu is prix fix. The day prior, we were asked our preferences two of the courses. Service was impeccable. Each course was a visual treat and gustatory extravaganza. Most courses included fresh herbs from the kitchen garden; picked during the meal! Wine pairing was extra, but worth the charge.
We started with shrimp in a pesto sauce with asiago cheese. The soup was a sweet pea and three onion soup garnished with dill and pansy. The meat course was lamb with a mustard au jus. I had seared scallops over polenta with a butter rosemary sauce. The dessert was a house-made cheesecake with berry coulis.

Every meal that I have been lucky enough to have enjoyed that has been prepared by Chef Meseret Crockett has been truly excellent, and there have been many of them! If I lived even remotely in the area I would not miss an opportunity to dine at The Colonnade!!!!

My husband and I had the best dinner at The Colonnade! It was four course dining experience and each course was just incredible. It’s clear the Chef is so passionate about her work and we appreciated that she came out to chat with dining guests. The suggested wine pairings were really great as well. Heather did a great job of making sure we were always taken care of. Can’t wait to come back!

My mother and I stayed at the Hope & Glory Inn and while there dined at The Colonnade. Chef Meseret gave us a dining experience we will never forget! Her sources for fresh produce and seafood, imaginative use of ingredients, and “just right” portion sizes were paired exquisitely with recommended wines. The meal couldn’t have been more pitch perfect. Of special note, was the silky smooth, vanilla essence panna cotta served with a berry coulis for dessert. It was out of this world. I’ve never been the biggest fan of the dish, but Chef Meseret changed my mind!
In addition to her culinary expertise, she is an excellent hostess and worldly woman. She was so gracious when she came to check on us to inquire about our dinner. I learned how she prepared the panna cotta and she and my mother conversed in German. We also learned Meseret has been at the H&G for 19 years – how fortunate for the the inn! She’s a true asset to the H&G as is Heather who did a beautiful job serving us that evening. Bravo ladies!!

Through business I’ve dined at Michelin 2 & 3 star restaurants including others among the best in many of the major cities on both coasts. Each having differing menus and atmospheres, but all providing exceptional experiences. Chef Meseret Crockett and the Colonnade provided us with a dining experience equal to any of the other top restaurants I’ve dined with! The meal was passionately prepared and a gastronomical delight, the atmosphere is period-reflective bright and comfortable, and the service was excellent.
