Myself, my dad, and my son had a wonderful family experience this afternoon! The food was delicious and kept us full all day! Jacob was such a gem! He is very upbeat, positive, and was so incredibly good with my three-year-old. We will definitely be back!

Excellent country diner with a limited but spot on breakfast menu. This is a small place (only 1.5 servers get the job done and are very friendly and attentive). The coffee could be stronger but the bacon and eggs were perfect. Side of fruit was fresh and delicious. Worth a stop if you’re in the area. The baked goods looked amazing!

This place was fantastic. The fried chicken was crispy and full of flavor, the fries were cooked just right, and the soup was surprisingly delicious. The staff couldn’t have been kinder, and the hospitality made the whole meal even better. Easily a must visit in this area!

We were genuinely excited to try this restaurant, but unfortunately our experience was deeply disappointing. The fried chicken — which should be the star of the show — was shockingly bland. Not subtly seasoned, not lightly salted… just almost completely flavorless. Even more concerning, there was an odd bitterness to it that made it difficult to finish.
For the price point, we expected something memorable in a good way. Instead, it felt significantly overpriced for what amounted to dry, under-seasoned chicken that lacked even basic depth of flavor.
Service was fine, and the restaurant itself seemed nice enough — which makes it even more frustrating. The fundamentals just weren’t there. We left wishing we had saved the money and made something better at home.
We truly hope this was an off night, but based on this visit, we wouldn’t return.

Just moved to Vermont from Arizona and we have been trying to find some really good comfort food; We couldn’t be happier that we came to Clunkin’ Cafe ! When walking in we were helped right away by one of the most amazing servers ever , Jacob ! Jacob was so attentive and friendly 🙂 he made us feel very welcomed and answered every question we had. The food came out hot and fresh , Braedan did an amazing job cooking up our appetizers and meals. The flavor and the presentation of our drinks and food made the whole experience 10 times better 🙂 we definitely will be regulars here . I wish I could give more than just a 5 star, they definitely deserve it 🙂

Excellent cafe on Scenic Byway Rte 100 just north of Rutland. Delicious fresh food, great atmosphere and friendly service! I had the falafel tacos, so yummy! My friend had the cordon bleu fried chicken. Also great!

Stopped here to eat on our travels around Vermont. It did not disappoint. Great lil restaurant with friendly service and great food! When in doubt what dessert to choose, just get one of them all! They are all clucking delicious.

Wonderful lunch spot conveniently located on Rt. 7. Excellent cocktail options and strong beer tap list. Lots of fun grilled cheese sandwich options. Very solid, moist fried chicken (though could use a bit more seasoning). We enjoyed our visit.

8-17-24. What a great restaurant on Route 7. I have never come across this gem before. I will be a repeat customer when I travel back to VT. I went with a lemonade and the Vermont Burger with waffle fries. I was not disappointed. I needed extra napkins and was quickly given them.
