This shop offers a casual café environment with a focused menu of coffee and baked goods. During a busy Saturday afternoon visit, the space was active with customers, though service remained efficient. Because we ordered only food items, the turnaround was quick despite the crowd, which helped make the experience smooth even during a peak time.
We ordered a Peanut Fudge Cup and a S’mores Cookie. The Peanut Fudge Cup featured a rich peanut butter fudge flavor and texture. It is worth noting that this item is not a peanut butter cup, but rather a fudge-based dessert, which may differ from what some customers initially expect. The S’mores Cookie was warmed before serving, which enhanced both its texture and flavor. It had a soft, slightly chewy consistency and melted easily while eating. The wax paper liner was particularly helpful, as the warmth and softness made the cookie difficult to handle without it. The liner allowed the cookie to remain intact and easier to eat.
Parking near the business is limited, which may require some patience during busy times. Restroom access consists of two single-stall, all-gender restrooms shared among three businesses in the building. Both restrooms include thoughtful amenities such as changing tables and free period supplies.
Overall, The Clapping Monkey provides quality baked goods in a busy but efficiently managed setting. While parking and shared facilities present minor logistical limitations, the food quality and prompt service contribute to a positive and functional café experience.

I love this cafe!!! One of my favorites to date. When I first visited, I was served by Jackson and Graysen & they were such a delight! I’ve been back a few times and have seen Graysen there always! He’s so kind, friendly, and recommends the best drinks! I’ve met a few others but have forgotten to ask for their names. The drinks here are delicious! I love the customizations you can make, the variety of choice, and how unique their menu is! Those are some things that I really value in a cafe. Their iced matchas are pretty good, I’ve also had their mochas (no pic sorry) and yummmm!! My favorite to get here is a flavored italian soda (just sparkling water) because they have fun flavors!! The Strawberry + Kiwi flavors are great! I also love the barista faves board! They have a new one up right now but it gives me good inspiration for a new drink to try! I also love this place because it’s super LGBTQ+ and POC friendly!!! I havent met nicer people at a cafe with such light and welcoming vibes. There’s tonnnnnns of seating here, and all super comfortable and silly seating! They have chairs, couches, booths, literally everything you can think of. This place is even BETTER because its joined with a vintage shop!!! I’ll only leave photos of the cafe portion here, but you absolutely have to check out the vintage shop if you visit this cafe. Absolllllutely will be coming back here!! One of my top 5 cafes for MN!

What an incredibly unique coffee shop! We tried a grilled cheese (tomato and pesto), hot ham and cheese, and a layered iced latte. Overall the food and drinks were solid. We’d definitely go back.

Couple recommendations:
– Reusable mugs for dine-in orders (so much plastic!)
– Add a breakfast sandwich to the menu

Super fun environment – great decor, music… and most importantly coffee! Loved their chai too. Highly recommend for catching up with friends or a board game spot!

I am a complete coffee snob, and this is some of the best coffee I’ve ever had. Absolutely wonderful!! The staff member who waited on us was friendly and made some fabulous lattes. Fun decor and music. We just discovered this place today and will absolutely be back, likely several times per week. Hooray for Fridley to have this gem in the neighborhood!

The Clapping Money House of Coffee is an amazing hidden gem, buried at the back of an equally beautiful antique/thrift store. The drinks are delicious, made with love and passion, and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. There are so many unique places to sit and sip your coffee, as well as several small shops with handmade goods and trinkets. I especially enjoyed the banana-flavored drinks and theme

What a special place- I wish there were more like it! This has all of the basics of your average coffee shop, but offers so much more. It goes to show that Queer spaces do not always have to be in Urban centers and centered around alcohol (those spaces are important, but not best for everyone all the time). Clapping Monkey is great for people of all personalities, but I imagine it might be especially a relief for people in a journey of sobriety or who feel overwhelmed in some other Queer-affirming settings! I have nothing but good things to say about my coffee, cookie, or the service received too!

It is a cozy coffeeshop with non-standard furniture. Very easy to find a comfortable seat for a coffee date. inclusive atmosphere. had a cold latte which was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful and busy. Would go back for food and coffee but also to see the knick knack shop attached to the coffee shop.

The vibes are immaculate.

This cafe is attached to an amazing vintage shop. You can load up on carbs and get hyped on coffee before going shopping. The food and staff are all fantastic. I really love the energy and uniqueness. I ordered the hot honey and pesto grilled cheese and it was great
