Amazing pub in the heart of London. Came here with my partner on our visit to London and couldn’t have picked a better place to do it.

The atmosphere was amazing, even as people who don’t often visit English-style pubs/bars, we had a wonderful time in the lively environment. Staff were extremely friendly and made sure I knew what drinks were on draught/in the fridges.

The decor was phenomenal, historical and overall pleasing to look at.

10/10 will definitely visit again – the prices per pint was also quite good for London!

The Churchill Arms is a proper classic pub with loads of character. The atmosphere is warm and lively, the staff are friendly, and the beer selection is solid. Add in the cozy interior and famous Thai food, and it’s an ideal spot for both a relaxed pint or a long evening with friends.

There are places in London that feel right even before you step inside, and Churchill Arms is very much one of them.
The first impression comes from the outside. The facade — proudly traditional and often richly decorated with flowers — immediately sets the tone. Simply standing across the street and looking at the pub is enough to create a sense of warmth and familiarity. It feels confident, rooted, and unapologetically itself.
Inside, the atmosphere is dense with character. Low ceilings, framed memorabilia and closely set tables create an intimate, enclosed space that feels alive with conversation. It is busy, sometimes crowded, but in a way that adds energy rather than discomfort. On colder days especially, sitting inside feels deeply comforting — like stepping into a well-worn part of London’s daily life.
What makes the Churchill Arms distinctive is its pairing of a traditional British pub with genuinely good Thai food. It is an unusual combination that works remarkably well. The kitchen delivers flavour and consistency, offering something far more memorable than standard pub fare, without trying to be fashionable or experimental.
The drinks selection is exactly what one hopes for from a proper London pub: good ales, dependable classics and no unnecessary complication. Service is generally efficient and experienced, well adapted to a mix of regulars and visitors.
For me, the Churchill Arms is about atmosphere and continuity. It is not trying to impress — it simply exists with confidence and character. It is a place I return to for the feeling it creates: grounded, familiar and quietly uplifting.

I love this place, it’s always busy with so many different people and walks of life visiting, and you can get a bottle of Pol Roger (Winston Churchill favourite Champagne) for less than 50 Quid. the exterior is decorated with flags and flowers, you know you have arrived, the interior filled with war time memorabilia, attached to the pub is a thai restaurant (different owner, i believe) and the food is pretty decent. It gets really busy so if you are going to eat i would suggest booking a table to disappointment, but if you are going to just go in for drinks the turnaround is pretty quick, i normally get a seat eventually.

Typical British pub but serves Thai food. We booked a table for 9 and overall the food was quite sweet, just like Thai cuisine. Waiters are all Thai too. I tried the Penang curry with beef and it was just the right amount of spicy (menu says ️ and it is an Asian level of ️, one chili). Pad Thai had the option of going spicy but the non spicy version was nicer.
Fried rice was a bit wet in texture and too sweet in my opinion.

We went on a Saturday night and was busy, which was likely why I didn’t feel welcome to stay for long and felt like we were rushed to pay and leave.

Would I come again? Not worth making a trip, but if nearby in the neighbourhood, yes. Overall 7/10

Note: food does not contain peanuts at all

Went for dinner on a Friday night and couldn’t recommend more! The service was excellent, very quick. I would however skip on the appetisers: spring rolls and chicken satay weren’t anything special. The mains however were good and the jungle curry is as hot as they say, even the items with one chili on the side were quite spicy so keep that in mind! The best part is the ambience: this little restaurant at the back of the pub, absolutely amazing!
Remember to book as it is always full.

This is a very busy pub, popular with tourist. The exterior flower display (at the side) is exceptional. The interior is bedecked with union flags and all sorts of memorabilia. This pub is famous for it’s Christmas lights. They had a decent whisky selection so I chose a double Makers Mark at just over £11. This is a nice pub to visit, especially if you are looking for something different.

Such an adorable spot. We grabbed 2 pints of some tasty raspberry cider just to try out the place and it was very busy on a midday Friday. Enjoyed our pints outside since it was a beautiful day lots of folks outside. The interior is packed with memorabilia and has some tables but limited seating if it is busy. Outside has some beautiful flowers along the building. Would definitely come back to enjoy the Thai spot out back.

Went here after seeing it featured in YouTube travel videos.

It truly is beautiful and interesting to look at inside and out, but like my friend said, “What is their theme? It’s like they just did all of it!”

From the outside, it looks beautiful because it’s covered in flowers.

When you walk inside, there’s a bar and there’s British flags hanging from the ceiling and Winston Churchill art on the walls.

I said, “Now this is a proper British pub!”

And my friend who is British said, “This is a British pub that’s gone over the top!”

I read that this is actually one of the oldest pubs in London being established in 1750, and was frequented by Winston Churchill’s grandparents who the pub is named after.

I had made a reservation for dinner, so we were led to the back where there were Thai flags hanging from the ceiling and plants as well, to the point it looked like a jungle.

The dishes were all Thai and I read that this is one of the first restaurants to serve Thai food in London in the 1990’s, and it all started with a chef who was Thai.

I ordered vegetarian pad thai. It was good, but more noodles than vegetables.

The price and portions were reasonable.

Overall, this was a good experience that I’d recommend.

Such a charming pub! The Churchill Arms is full of character — beautiful flower-covered exterior, cozy inside, and a great atmosphere. The Thai food was surprisingly good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
