Fantastic from start to finish. Shrimp and calamari and truly enormous onion rings for appetizers. Then excellent Caesar salad and a very pleasantly distinctive tomato and dill soup. For entrees, my son had a perfectly cooked med-rare ribeye and grilled shrimp, precisely demonstrating one of my favorite chef philosophies: simple, elegant execution of cooking and staying out of the way of the foods inherent delicious flavors, and I had one of the best slices of prime rib I’ve had I quite a while. For dessert, two scoops of house-made Heath bar ice cream. Bullseye on every single thing. A very welcome surprise! We will be back with family and friends.

The food itself was actually very good once it arrived, but the overall experience was mixed.
Unfortunately, I had an unfavorable initial interaction with both our waitress and the manager, and I wasn’t able to get the entrée I originally came for – the ribeye – and ended up settling for a cheeseburger instead.
That said, my cheeseburger was really good, and my guest also enjoyed their meal. The deviled eggs were tasty, though I think they’d be even better if served with hot bacon instead of cold.
There’s definitely potential here because the food quality was solid, but the service experience and not receiving my intended dish took away from what could have been a much better visit.

If you haven’t been, whether you weren’t sure or you think it’s too far, you need to make the trip. Everything we had was one hundred percent on point and perfect! Our waitress Martha was absolutely adorable! Her smile was infectious and with our party of 5, we kept her on her toes and she served us with grace. We enjoyed having the manager check in with our table as well, who does that anymore! Greatly appreciated & welcoming! Believe the reviews people, this place is it!

The main highlight for us was their exceptional service. Our server, Jackson P., was extremely attentive, even when he was busy, he consistently checked on our table. The ambiance was beautiful. We ordered the lamb chops, deviled eggs, chopped salad, grouper fillet (a seasonal item), a mushroom side, and the butter cake with strawberries. I didn’t like the mushroom side, but everything else was excellent. Portion sizes are little small, dessert was huge though. Cake could have been much better if it was little less sweet. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. We will definitely return.

They definitely know how to burn a steak. Ribeye was literally Inedible.
Appetizers were good but Definitely Do Not recommend steaks here…. We had two people that ordered steaks and two people. That ordered chicken. They know how to do chicken definitely have no idea How to cook a good steak extremely overcooked. However, the service was very good.It took a long time to get our food, but it was understandable. Kind of hard to believe that it is a steakhouse.They should probably give it a different name and add a few things.Other than steak to the menu. Overall, however, it was actually pretty good. But I recommend that they change or make sure they cook their bread through completely. Because it felt as if it needed to be cooked more. Very doughy. Highly recommend the House wine and their cocktails were good as well.

I had a fantastic meal at The Chop House in Athens! The steaks and seafood were cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and the portions were generous. The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere made it great for a special night out or dinner with friends. The service was great as is the vibe in there. Chop salad was good. There was a hair in one of the salads so it had to go back. We all had steaks and 3 of 4 steaks were over cooked. Horseradish crust on 3 of 4 steaks and none of them tasted like horseradish. The bread they served was meh the butter was honey butter and it was good. For the price it was good value the cut of meat was good and nice that it comes with a baked potato. I am not sure I would personally come back other than for happy hour or appetizers.

We celebrated our daughter’s 21st birthday at The Chop house in Athens. They happily accommodated our party of 17 and the service was Amazing! They truly were so friendly and welcoming! I would definitely recommend dining here. Our food was delicious and received it in a timely manner considering the size of our party. I would give more stars if I could!
