The Chive, Simply Good Café/Market concept is farm to table and as much locally sourced as possible. The menu is fresh, all made from scratch, vegetable-forward, changing often based on what is coming from our local farmers. We offer, stay awhile, indoor seating with counter service in the café and taproom, an outdoor patio and activities area, and a dog park. For those in a hurry, we have a convenient take out market featuring our recipes in a to-go format and other locally made, natural products. For you, our customers, it is simply good food and good beer, fresh and local, farm to table, casual counter service. It is a taste adventure, a stay awhile place, a take-home market, a community space, health-conscious, and sustainably focused.

Stopped in when passing through from Oklahoma to Minnesota. I had the Grilled Cheese Trio and it was delicious! My husband had the Bateman Bison Burger and loved it! I especially liked the potato chips that came with his burger. Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. All around good, clean eating! Great location for travelers.

Unbelievable customer service, local variety and food! The shop is absolutely adorable with a selection of local produce, indoor and outdoor seating and specialty items. Everything on the menu was very fresh, over 80% local, and very very very tasty! John was very kind and friendly and let us know that they change their menu weekly, they make all homemade breads, they recycle and compost their waste which means we just have to come back weekly! To be so local, the prices are great! You can get a meal from 8.00 – 17.00! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!

Farm fresh locally sourced ingredients, bread made on-site, produce that you can buy to make your own recipes at home. Yeah this is a place that I want to frequent. I had the trout sandwich and it was just right. The trout was not hot so chilled to perfection. But they can wrap dates with balsamic glaze or a great appetizer to start us off. Definitely a place I will keep going back to.

I have been very excited to have the Chive & Transparent Brewery open. This is my 3rd visit. From the beer to the food, it is a wonderful addition to South Kansas City. Lucky me, it is only a few minutes from downtown Grandview. I really enjoyed the Farrar Farm Pork Sloppy Joe. So yummy! From what I understand, it is becoming a crowd favorite. I know why, it is delish. Full of flavor on a fresh roll. I wasn’t planning on returning until next week, but I may not be able to wait that long.

Decent, yet pricey location for food, but the various beers they serve is their saving grace. A group of us visited and ordered a variety of items on the menu and nothing stood out to us at all. The prosciutto, honey almond pizza was probably the biggest disappointment along with the ginger ale float and cookies and cream trifle, were borderline, just okay. The grilled cheese was good, but the highlight for all of us were the selection of beers and the sweet potato chips and beer cheese was up there as well. Lastly, their cooler boasted some very decadent looking cakes and we decided to get the matcha cake. When we had it the next day with friends, it mostly went to waste. Not a single one of us liked it as it was basically a sugar bomb with no distinguishable flavor or good cake texture. The high prices and lackluster food we experienced left a lot to be desired. The staff was attentive and nice, so there’s that.

Highly recommend! Ordered the bison burger with house made chips (including beer cheese sauce) and it was perfect. The burger was cooked just right. The chips were a mix of sweet and red potatoes and they were light and crispy. Everything tasted so fresh, down to the house made ketchup! Fresh wild flowers on each table, felt like visiting family. Can’t wait to come back.
