The Channel Marker is located on a channel of Lake Wawasee. It is very busy in the summer and a popular place to boat and people watch. We have eaten and gotten drinks here dozens of times in the last 5 years and always gotten excellent service and food. They have a wide variety of food and a full bar. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.

As far as eating on the water, this is one of the few places in Syracus that you can do it. The view is nice, but the decorations could use some updating. The menu has a decent variety of seafood, but nothing spectacular. I guess living on the east coast ruined my expectations of a waterfront restaurant. The fries were really good though and our server (Courtney) was very nice. The most surprising part of my dining experience was that I discover my new favorite ketchup. The Channel Marker serves 78 tomato ketchup and wow is this stuff good. I’ve been a Red Gold fan for quite a while, but I may be switching over after experiencing the delicious flavor of 78.

Fun little bar/restaurant on the channel. Staff was friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed casual. Had the Potato Skins for an appetizer, and they were delicious! Not the frozen kknd either….freshly made and tasty! Sandwiches and fries were also worth the trip!

First we ordered the bang bang shrimp. I would say the quality of this appetizer was on the level of long john silvers. Then for the main course we both got the steak Alaska. The steaks were mostly fat. We both ordered them medium rare but both steaks were pretty much raw. As for the service. My wife and I sat and watch the whole wait staff sit around tables and most of them were on their phones. I feel like the channel marker is not worth the cost.

Stopped in for a quick lunch, we loved sitting in the open air seating overlooking the channel. The food was very good and Ashley did a great job taking care of us and offering suggestions. We will be back!

We stopped in on a beautiful fall day because the website and Bringfido said dog friendly. Sadly, that was not true. 2 ladies were dining nearby and when I went to order at the bar, a waitress told me we couldn’t stay. I asked we won’t come inside, still not knowing we weren’t allowed. She said the patio was closed. I said we don’t mind coming in to get beverages and ordering our food. Nope. If the information online wouldn’t have said no dogs or patio closed (which that is where we entered from) we wouldn’t have stopped. Also had she been a little more polished with delivering the bad news and not so rude, I would have given them higher marks. Call ahead to see if you and your well-behaved dog are welcome. There are plenty of places nearby that welcome you!

Had a good time at this restaurant. Staff shortage that weekday, June 24. The fish tacos were very good. I had the fish of the day, Mahi Mahi. I asked for more chips to go with my salsa.

Channel Marker is the perfect place to boat, bike or drive for a beautiful casual lunch or dinner on the channel at Lake Wawasee. We love sitting outside at the Tiki at a table with an umbrella. It’s good ANY time of year! Excellent, friendly staff!! Fall views of water as well, from indoors. Try a marshmallow martini. Tastes like dessert! During Summer – a half swamp water/half sunset & a BLT are ideal! Thank you!

We we’re at The Channel Marker 2 weeks ago, our service was adequate but the atmosphere was bad. People were talking loud and worst of all was a 10 top of people that only ordered water to drink, but they would go out to their boat and drink shot’s of alcohol. Why would the manager let this happen? As far as I know there are 18 shot’s of liquor in a bottle. With that being said, 18 shot’s at $4 per that’s $72 the company pays maybe $16 per bottle. That’s a loss of$50. Then there was the food, mediocre at best. Fries were cold. My burger had no! Flavor and it was supposed to be the flagship burger. We will not return.

What a gem! We heard about the Channel Marker from a friend, and had wanted to check out Syracuse anyway, so we headed to this waterfront restaurant/tiki bar.

The decor is a fun mix of beach/lake blie and white with a full bsr inside and a Key West-inspired tiki bar outside. I need to see this place when the weather is nice!

Service was excellent throughout. Quick on refills and to follow-up on food. They did everything right.

The menu was deep, with options for fish lovers and those who don’t love seafood. It had a nice range of less expensive options, and full market price options.

It looked like most of everything was scratch made. The food was well prepared and had a good mix of flavors.

The clam chowder was excellent. I could eat a big bowl of thwt on a cloudy day. The cup size made a great appetizer.

The lighter fare fish tacos were excellent. I’m not a huge fish fan, but these were well done, with some spice hiding in the flavors with a mango salsa to blend in an island/Florida vibe. Tasty!

My wife’s sandwich was equally as good with a creamy coleslaw topping. Great combination!

The key lime pie was superb. I’m used to ones so tart you could strip automotive paint with it. This was a subtle, almost custard-like pie with maybe cinnamon and nutmeg that paired well with the graham cracker crust.

All in all, well worth the hour drive to Syracuse for a date meal. I need to see it in summer. I hear it’s hopping!
