Cute place with a unique vibe. Very affordable but you do get what you pay for. Not amazing food but good and for the price – very good. The service was average. Nothing stood out as bad but nothing over the top. Wait staff is not amazing but adequate. Atmosphere was unique and cute but the place could use a refresh. Overall I would go back but now my expectations are set.

The place is very nice, very comfortable, and quite discreet. It’s great for couples because it’s romantic. I went to celebrate a birthday because the birthday girl loves themed restaurants, and we went with family. It’s a great place for conversation, the food is very good and fresh, prepared to order, the portions are generous (quite large), and the desserts are delicious. The service is excellent. There’s a time limit for your stay, but it’s more than enough time to eat at your leisure, relax, and enjoy a glass of wine. Excellent choice, highly recommended.

A Romantic “Escape” in Edgewater – Immersive Vibe & Top-Tier Service! ️
If you are looking for a unique, immersive dining experience that feels like a total departure from the outside world, The Caves is a must-visit. For a moment, the atmosphere truly made me feel like I was back in Cancun!
The Ambiance & Vibe:
The “Caves” theme is executed beautifully. With organic sculptures, dim lighting, and cozy, private booths, it is incredibly quiet and romantic, the ultimate spot for a date night. It is one of the most Instagrammable settings I’ve seen, providing a peaceful “escape” that allowed my partner and I to focus entirely on our evening together.
The Menu & Entrees:
While the menu is a bit selective, they offer thoughtful vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.
The Caesar Salad: Crisp and well-prepared.
Main Courses: Our entrees were delicious and well-presented. I especially appreciated the availability of the Houston Garden Burger with Beyond Patties for a solid plant-based option.
A Note on the Dessert (Tiramisu Delight):
We were very much looking forward to the Tiramisu, and while the presentation was lovely, the experience was a bit of a disappointment. Rather than a traditional Tiramisu, it felt more like we were eating actual coffee seeds. The coffee flavor was overwhelmingly strong, to the point where it might be a concern for anyone sensitive to caffeine or with high blood pressure. We would love to see a more balanced version of this in the future!
Service:
The service was top-notch. Our server was attentive, professional, and added to the high-end feel of the night.
Verdict:
Even with the dessert being a bit of a miss for us, the atmosphere and service make this place worth the trip. It’s a beautiful, quiet sanctuary for a special occasion. We are definitely willing to visit again!

This is a nice and authentic place for a nice cozy dinner. Me and my wife had our anniversary dinner here. It was great. Food specially desserts are delicious. Atmosphere is great and music is calm and nice. Service was okay. You are barely able to see the servers. Food came fast. I asked for house salad with my burger. They brought chips instead even though it was on the receipt as house salad. We were not able to tell server to replace it since they did not come to check on us if everything was okay.
Well, willing to come again. Still a nice place and different experience.

Came here from New York to take my birthday pictures, and I absolutely loved the service. I usually don’t like mentioning that it’s my birthday, but they somehow knew and surprised me with a candle, which meant so much. Everyone was amazing—Wesley, our server, and Shay were incredibly attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Shay also made my matcha latte exactly the way I like it. I would definitely recommend this place and will absolutely be back, especially when the weather gets warmer.

We had the opportunity to visit The Caves this past week for my girlfriend’s birthday. The concept behind this restaurant is very unique and fascinating. The climate, the music, the theme are all fantastic. However, this restaurant is quite far from living up to its full potential. The food was quite average. The presentation and effort on the other hand seem to be lacking substantially. I received my food on a metal plate (like in a prison cafeteria), the water was served in plastic glasses, the hot tea was served in a dirty and sticky pot, and the honey was served in it’s original container from Costco and was about 70% empty. Overall, the way the food was presented was very distasteful and really took away from what was otherwise a very enjoyable climate. The atmosphere of this restaurant presents itself as a unique and elegant dining experience, they even list penalties on the menu for being loud, not having your phone on silent, or flashing lights at other tables, giving the feeling that is supposed to be a rather immersive experience. But the decisions, as far as the food quality and presentation goes, is what I would expect to see at a diner. The names of many of the desserts are demonic based and a can be quite off-putting; I would recommend changing these to something more appealing. Lastly, when I booked the reservation I added a note to please include a candle with desert because we were celebrating a birthday and I wanted it to be a surprise. Unfortunately, this note was overlooked and we had to request it after receiving our desserts.
Overall, I cannot say that I would recommend this restaurant in its current state and I don’t see myself returning here.

For my birthday, I decided to celebrate at The Cave Restaurant in Edgewater, NJ, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! From the moment we walked in, the aesthetic and ambiance were everything. The candlelight on each table, the cave-inspired walls, and the beautiful sculptures and wall art all created such a relaxing, romantic vibe. The atmosphere was classy but cozy, perfect for date nights or special occasions.
For drinks, I ordered the Wild Berry Lemonade and my boyfriend went with the Baja Blast. That lemonade was so good I had to get a second one! For our appetizer, we tried the cheesy nachos super flavorful, warm, and crispy. For entrées, he got the House Burger (served with chips and coleslaw), and I went with the Cilantro Chicken Quesadilla with sour cream and salsa on the side. When I say that quesadilla was packed with flavor… whew, a 10/10! And that coleslaw? I’m not even a coleslaw person, but theirs changed my whole mind it was that good. The portion sizes were generous, so I even had leftovers to take home.
The service was just as amazing as the food. Our server was friendly, attentive, and checked in on us multiple times. The restaurant offers complimentary valet parking, which was a nice bonus, and the location itself is perfect surrounded by other restaurants and a great overall vibe.
As a TikTok Foodie content creator (@TaliyaBBeauty) I have to say this is easily one of my top dining experiences in New Jersey so far. The Cave is beautiful, affordable, and worth every penny our total was only about $70 for two entrées, an appetizer, and multiple drinks. Highly recommend for birthdays, date nights, or any celebration.

An Edgewater staple- romantic and magical atmosphere- while the menu could stand to be updated- the portions are substantial , there are plenty of vegetarian options, it’s fresh and does the job. Great for desserts and drinks and noshes. A perfect place for an intimate experience with friends, loved ones or for getting to know someone. BYOB. I brought my daughter here for her 9th birthday and the staff went above and beyond! Specifically our server Faith who was super kind, attentive and communicative. The service was prompt and the food came out quickly!

We had such a wonderful time at Caves in Edgewater! Before our visit, Faith was incredibly kind and helpful over the phone and when I stopped by in person — her warm and attentive attitude truly stood out. Although she wasn’t there during our visit, the rest of the staff made us feel welcome. The service was pleasant, and the dessert made my friend’s birthday feel extra special. We left with happy hearts and big smiles — such a lovely experience overall!
