I wanted catfish when I came to Orlando, and after looking at a number of locations that had pretty good reviews, I settled on the catfish place. I have to be extremely honest and say that this is not in the best of neighborhoods, but sometimes that’s where you find the best food.
I ordered the three-piece catfish with hush puppies and Cajun fries. The fish was extremely Flaky /light and Fried to perfection. I would definitely go back to this location because things were so tasty. Look at the photos and make a decision based on that. They did a fantastic job.

This restaurant came highly recommended by my brother, and I’d also heard about it through local folklore—it’s practically a legend among country restaurants. We stopped in for lunch on a Monday afternoon. I ordered the country fried steak with braised cabbage and cheese grits, while my dining partner had the fried flounder with sweet potato fries. It truly did not disappoint. The country fried steak was the best I’ve ever had, the cheese grits were out of this world, and the braised cabbage might have stolen the show. Highly recommend.

Excellent place for comfort food.
Great menu, the food is awesome. We started with fried green tomatoes followed by fried snapped, cheese grits, hush puppies, fried catfish and fried flounder. The food was full of flavor; it was a truly enjoyable experience. The staff was very attentive and pleasant.

The culinary offerings are exceptional, complemented by outstanding service. However, the portion sizes are perceived as insufficient. The sampler, priced at $32, provides a minimal amount of food, potentially inadequate for a single individual. To enhance the dining experience and distinguish the establishment, an increase in serving sizes is recommended. The service, notably memorable, is a significant strength. Our server provided detailed explanations of each dish and offered personalized recommendations. This positive initial experience has solidified our intention to return. It is important to note that this establishment is positioned at a higher price point. Children’s meals range from $9.99 for hotdogs to $13.99 for other options, while adult entrees also reflect a premium pricing strategy. For instance, a dish comprising two small pieces of fish, two hush puppies, and fries is priced above $20.
**Strengths:** Exceptional cuisine, outstanding service.
**Areas for Improvement:** Serving size, price point.

Listen, run, don’t walk here. This is the most amazing gem in St. Cloud. The freshest taste of florida. Everything is made from scratch in the house. All the sauces dressing even the honey served is local. The service we received was some of the best service ever. must try the Gator, frog legs, catfish, and shrimp. The fried oakra and coslaw are on point! Even the coffee was amazing. I can’t not fault any aspect of our visit. I will drive the hour and a half to eat her again!

Horrible. The most disgusting seafood/fish ever. I’m not sure that the reviews I’ve read are accurate. The food was terrible. Dry, overcooked for 75% of the order. The rest just wasn’t even edible. Definitely not the place to get fried green tomatoes.

The Fried Catfish Platter from The Catfish Restaurant, paired with cheese grits, hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, and fried dill pickles, is a Southern feast that hits all the right notes.
The catfish is the star of the show—fried to perfection with a crispy, golden crust and tender, flaky fish inside. The cornmeal breading is well-seasoned, adding a satisfying crunch without being overly greasy.
The cheese grits are creamy and rich, with just the right amount of sharpness from the cheese, making them a perfect sidekick to the catfish. The hush puppies are a delight—slightly sweet, with a moist interior and a crunchy exterior, a comforting classic done right.
The fried green tomatoes are a revelation: tangy, crisp, and flavorful, with a light coating that allows the tomatoes to shine. Meanwhile, the fried dill pickles offer a briny, tangy burst of flavor, balanced by their crispy coating.
The house-made ranch ties it all together. It’s thick, herby, and fresh, ideal for dipping everything from the pickles to the hush puppies.
This platter is an indulgent celebration of Southern comfort food. Each bite brings a perfect blend of texture and flavor, leaving you full but tempted to order more.
The service was also exceptional our waitress was attentive and on point every time
