This place is awesome!!! The people are sooo friendly and the food is delicious. The fried pork chop was huge and so tasty. The grilled chicken breast came with onions and bell peppers, got twice baked potatoes and mac n cheese- yummm! And you gotta try the fried pecan pie . So good we went back day later while still in town. Had gumbo, and fried chicken salad- both delish and just loved the way they did chicken strips!!!

Quality food at a reasonable price. Everything we had was prepared fresh and cooked to order. Gumbo is flavorful, smooth, and just the right spice. Fried chicken has thin flavorful batter and remains moist. Fried squash was a pleasant surprise – more like squash chips in cornmeal batter. Delicious! Our new favorite resturant in East Texas. Read the Gideon provided Bible while you wait. Go away blessed physically and spirtually. Staff were also so friendly and kind toward us.

We had high hopes seeing all the reviews and having people tell us about eating here. We ordered one fried and one grilled seafood platter. The grilled shrimp was awesome. The grilled fish was cooked perfectly but way too salty. The fried food was over cooked. The fries tasted old and as if they were refried. All around disappointed. Wasn’t offered a discount, paid 50 bucks for food we didn’t eat much of. Took the rest home to feed to the dog. He didn’t even want it.

Absolutely delicious food. We’ve been there multiple times, and have been blown away with how amazing the steak is, but also big fans of the burgers and especially the seasoned red potatoes! Huge helpings, but be prepared to wait a little bit as they do cook everything fresh and it takes a while. I give it five stars on the cooking and taste/quality of food… Minus one star because the interior is very dated with older ripped up tablecloths, the chair I sat on was really sticky so I had to wipe it down, and the lemonade is just pure sugar and does not taste good… just small stuff like that. But all in all, great experience with food every time we go. I hope someday they open up for breakfast! Those sliced seasoned red potatoes are absolutely to die for if you bring it home and toss it in a skillet with some eggs and cheese on top!

The staff was amazing I was with large group and the entire staff was wonderful. Our food did take about 20 minutes to come out but the tea glasses were never empty. The food was wonderful no complaints at all. It was so good our crew ate there 3 nights in a row. And some of the guys got Togo orders for lunch. We will definitely be back

I was in town for the weekend and a Friend recommended this place. We ordered take out and the young Lady who took our order was friendly but the food wasn’t what we expected!! The fish was cooked to soft and the fries seemed as if they had been dunked back in hot grease to warm them up. Maybe next time I will dine in.

I’m not friends with nor go to church with the owners so I’m not afraid to hurt their feelings on this review. Single most disgusting meal I have had in YEARS! Grilled shrimp was so over salted I left with a headache, hamburger steak dinner was so salty my daughter had to fight vomiting on the way home, fried okra tasted like fried water cooked in a grainy flour breading so, obviously freezer burned and still cooked and served, fried fish was mushy inside and the fried crawfish tails had the texture of a fried bullet. Talked to the manager and was offered a discount of about $8 on a $100 bill. Not to mention the hollering of Spanish back and forth from the kitchen to the waitress Thank you for such a wonderful birthday dinner experience.

Where to begin. The fried mushrooms and tea were good so we had high hopes. We were mistaken. Once we got our food it went downhill and fast. The okra tasted like water, the coating was extremely flour based that you can taste it and then fried to fool you. Hush puppies were extremely bland. My fiancee had fried seafood and I ordered the hamburger steak. The fish was mushy like it had been frozen, the shrimp and crawfish were like little bullets and the amount of salt made him stop not even halfway through his. My meal was not much better. The meat was decent but it’s making me want to vomit, everything was overly salty where we were sucking down our drinks, and I also had to stop powering through because I was getting sick to my stomach. My parents were there also and they were not pleased either. My father had the same problems as my fiancee did, but my mom opted for the grilled shrimp. It was extremely salty that she couldn’t eat anything. The manager gave us a “discount” but nothing really changed. I did the math and it was still the same amount that we paid compared to the bill. Everyone is sick to their stomach and I won’t be coming back.
