Wonderful little rustic place in beautiful location. Menu choice was perfect. I had the oysters and the smoked haddock and potato with a cheese sauce, which was delightful. Plenty of choice of dishes. Friendly staff. Visited the shop and stocked up on some fresh fish and groceries. Can’t wait to go back!

What a revelation. I eat seafood all over the world, mostly because it’s my absolute favorite and I’m from the coast in Australia. We grew up with a prawn in our hand all summer! I tell you that so you can appreciate my credentials! The food here blew my mind, and every dish that came out of the kitchen for myself or another table made my mouth water. The produce is extremely fresh, and there is a lot of variety in the taste and flavour that they offer with the various seafood items. My husband had an Asian style fish with nuts, ginger and peppers, while I had a very English version of trout with a plateful of Greens and potato. Not only can you get beautiful main dishes like that, they have a whole range of smaller nibbles, and charcuterie options that really compliment the overall menu. We also had oysters that were extremely fresh and the best oysters I’ve had in years.
The staff were so friendly and chatty to us not to mention the environment is very laid back and does it make you feel intimidated or overwhelmed. They even have a small farm shop on the property, where I went and bought a range of smoked Fish and cheeses. I had not expected to find something so delightful and so appealing, frankly I don’t get my hopes up much anymore when it comes to seafood because it’s very hard to find this level of quality and this variety on a menu. Will be back, and next time I’m going to get the giant bowl of mussels with fries. Make sure you book though, there’s only a few tables and they book up fast.

Delicious food! Amazing wine too from the shop on site as it is BYOB – local arran beers and French wine! The chef gave our dog free food which was very kind of them! Can’t wait to come back

Absolute hidden gem. We loved this! We had an incredible shellfish platter and smoked haddock in a leek and cheese sauce. It was enormous – we couldn’t finish it all! Fantastic, fresh, local seafood. What’s not to love? I also really enjoyed the cosy, chilled atmosphere and thought that going to the farm shop for wine was a fun touch. Incredible value as well. Highly recommend!

Popped in at kind of an awkward mid-afternoom time and staff were so great, cooked fantastic mussels and scallops for my dad and I had a really tasty soup with generous helpings of lovely homemade bread. Very friendly owner and waitress, relaxed atmosphere, excellent food. Well worth the trip. We’ll definitely visit again.

Another incredible meal at an amazing price. The only thing I’d maybe think about changing was the music; a bit of David Gray or Paul Weller might work well. Other than that, could not fault a thing. 10/10 will be back soon. Also it’s BYOB – you can buy wine onsite at the farm shop.

One of the best , if not the best seafood restaurants in Scotland. Great value and superb menu & worth the trip to enjoy freshest oysters & seafood locally harvested & caught. Friendly owner even taught me how to shuck my own oysters which can be bought in the adjoining farm shop. Definitely one for many return visits

This place was recommended by a friend, and while my initial impression was hmmm, due to us being the only ones there (Thursday evening, mid-April), it was amazing!
The food was fresh, full of flavour, and again, truly amazing.
I’ll certainly be returning again, and I’d recommend booking in advance, even though it was quiet when we were there, to avoid disappointment.
One point to mention, they don’t serve alcohol, which wasn’t a problem for me, as I don’t drink. Might be worth asking if you can bring your own wine, though?

Scallops were so large and tasty in a gratin. Sad that no Lobsters were yet in from the boat so something for next year when we return

Our second visit and Fins Restaurant is now one of our favourite dining venues within a reasonable drive from Glasgow. The fact that it’s in an unassuming location, adds to how special this place is. The highlight are the oysters. So fresh and very reasonably priced. Everything else we’ve tried so far is also very good. Very low-key and relaxed service. It can feel too slow but it is a good match for the laid back atmosphere where you can spen hours just chilling and eating! BYOB is the norm here with a very reasonable £4 corkage fee. Or you can buy wine/beer from the farm shop next door.
