Such a great experience at the Carousel Bar & Lounge!
This is the perfect hangout spot for professionals or anyone looking to unwind in a classy, laid-back setting. The ambience was chill and inviting, with a live band that set the perfect tone for the night. The atmosphere overall was lively but still comfortable you could relax, enjoy good conversation, and soak in the energy of New Orleans.
Of course, the highlight is the carousel bar itself it slowly spins as you sip your drink, which was such a fun and unique experience! The vibe here is truly unmatched. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this spot is an absolute must when in New Orleans.

The Carousel Bar & Lounge is a truly fun and iconic New Orleans spot. It’s definitely worth a visit just to watch the bar spin round and round, which is exactly as wonderful as it sounds.
I had the Ramos Gin Fizz, and while the bartender didn’t shake it for the traditional 12 minutes as the recipe calls for, it was sooo good! He put enough effort into it that everyone around me was curious about the drink.
Be prepared for a ridiculous wait time to get a seat at the carousel – there’s no queue, so it’s genuinely a “grab what you can” situation. Also, many classic items like the Ramos Gin Fizz have been removed from the menu, so you have to explicitly ask for it to get it.
For a unique, memorable atmosphere and excellent classic cocktails, The Carousel Bar is a must-try. Just be strategic about finding your spot!

The Carousel Bar at Hotel Monteleone is an absolute must for us — we go every year for our anniversary, and it never gets old. We always grab the 10 a.m. tour tickets so we can get in early and listen to Michael Dupree share the incredible history of the hotel. We’ve done it three times so far and can’t wait to do it again.

Really cool bar and lounge, drinks left a bit to be desired for how expensive they are and that they are the whole point of coming here. I do think the bar itself and the experience are the main attraction though honestly.

This was a cool spot!!! I timed it perfectly!!! I got there about 20 minutes prior to it opening. And there was already a line. The thing filled up quickly once they let everyone in!!! Had i shown up another 2 or 3 minutes later, there wouldve been no places to sit at the bar. Note*** I left around 1:30pm. And there were some empty seats at the bar. So maybe show up after the first little rush?
