I’ve always loved coming to The Capital Grille, but today truly went above and beyond anything I’ve experienced before. We arrived about 20 minutes before opening, and without hesitation they opened early just to accommodate us. That alone speaks volumes.

I was dining with my niece, and the care they showed her was incredible—bringing crayons and toys, making her feel welcomed, and checking on us constantly to be sure we were comfortable and happy. It wasn’t just good service, it was genuinely thoughtful.

Our waiter, Bryce, and the manager were both unbelievably warm, welcoming, and kind. They went far beyond what’s expected of their jobs and made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers. Their attention, professionalism, and kindness truly stood out.

This experience is exactly why I have continued to come to The Capital Grille and why I will keep coming back. Exceptional food paired with exceptional people makes all the difference, and today they absolutely nailed it.

Highly recommend—this is hospitality at its finest.

Had a wonderful experience the staff goes above and beyond. I felt welcomed, pampered and treated very respectfully from the moment I walked in the door. I had a in fashion, which was the best type of old-fashioned I’ve had in a very long time. Then of course I got my usual lamb chops and they were perfect in every way.

The ambiance and service was top tier. The steak was good, but definitely have had better at other steak houses. Sides were very good. The coconut cream pie however, was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had in my life. Life changing dessert

From the moment we walked in, The Capital Grille made it clear why it’s more than just a restaurant, it’s a full-on experience. The hosts at the front desk were extremely warm and welcoming, immediately setting the tone for the evening with their hospitality and professionalism.

Our server Armand, was nothing short of exceptional. His service was attentive without being intrusive, and his suggestions truly elevated the meal. It was evident that his priority was to ensure we had an unforgettable dining experience checking in regularly, fine-tuning every detail, and going above and beyond to make us feel valued.

We started the evening with a few appetizers: the jumbo shrimp cocktail, calamari, and tuna tartare. The shrimp were fresh and flavorful, a classic done right. The tuna tartare, however, was the clear standout outright delicious. It had just the right balance of avocado and cucumber, paired with a generous portion of tuna, creating a light and refreshing start. The calamari? Well, calamari is calamari and it’s hard to get wrong. This one was done decently well and was a solid addition to the table, especially for those wanting something crisp to munch on before the mains.

Followed that up with a variety of steak dishes each cooked to perfection but for one where we did encounter a small hiccup, but the way Armand and the team handled it was nothing short of graceful. Quick, sincere, and solution-oriented, their response turned a potential setback into a testament to their commitment to excellence. That’s the mark of true hospitality.

I went with the sea bass, specially requested without butter. It was initially brought out with butter, but Armand was sharp enough to catch the oversight before I even said a word. In under a minute, he had a new, correct dish on the table. That level of precision and awareness felt downright Michelin-esque.

The sides were fantastic as well where the Brussels sprouts, asparagus and the bread basket were all crowd-pleasers. Special mention to the onion bread, which quickly became the table favorite.

When “Desserts anybody” rolled around, it was a hushed “yes” that turned into a why not from the entire table. We ordered nearly everything on the menu along with a vanilla ice-cream (except the seasonal berries), and were surprised and delighted with an off-menu chocolate cake served fresh from the oven, on the house. That final sweet touch sealed the evening with smiles all around though the cake vanished so quickly, some were left only with the hope of a second helping!

All in all, The Capital Grille delivers a gastronomic experience marked by warmth, attention to detail, and culinary finesse. Whether you’re there for a celebration or just an indulgent night out, it’s a place you won’t want to miss.

Service and atmosphere were 5 stars but the food I’ve better at other steakhouse. For the price the mac and cheese shouldn’t have been lumpy and mushy, the shrimp cold and a grissly steak. The service is phenomenal!!

I’ve been to Capital Grille about 5 times or so for lunch and dinners and have had a great experience every time. Definitely recommend for a nice meal.

They have a valet, but it is just across the street from city Creek and that is where I’ve parked when I’ve gone.

I love a good steak and theirs did not disappoint, the au gratin potatoes and mashed potatoes are both great. The calamari appetizer was one that surprised me with how tasty it was. The coconut pie for dessert seems to be everyone’s favorite and was very good.

The service is impeccable, as is the food and ambience. Overall, one of my favorite restaurants downtown. Highly recommend!

I don’t give many 5 star reviews so this means something. We struck out at multiple restaurants tonight that had no availability for us. We tried our luck at The Capital Grill. They had one table available in the bar. We took it. The only problem was that my daughter and wife both forgot their ID’s because we weren’t planning to drink tonight and I was driving. When they couldn’t produce ID’s to sit in the bar they couldn’t serve us. Instead of asking us to leave they made a table available for us in the main seating area to my surprise. They didn’t rush us. We were treated exceptionally well. Our waiter was great but our assistant server Ernesto was amazing. He constantly was seeing to our needs. Our water glasses never were below half full. It was wonderful seeing that we had been on an extensive bike ride earlier in the day and needed more hydration. We were grateful for his kindness and care towards us. He brought a kindness and happiness every time he came to our table. It was wonderful speaking with him. Then came the food. Completely made with perfection. All of our stakes were perfectly cooked the exact way we ordered them. They were absolutely wonderful. All of the sides were extremely complimentary to the proteins we ordered. Wonderful. We like Ruth Chris but now knowing this place exists we’ll never go there as our first choice for a stake house. The Capital Grill is now our number one place to eat. They do have a dress code so remember to dress well. However I wasn’t prepared to eat at this nice of a restaurant and was merely in a T-shirt and jeans and they let me in. To my utter delight. Usually for my reviews I show the food and even take a video. This time it’s just the to go bag but please enjoy this place. I will again.

Dining at Capitol Grille in Salt Lake City was an absolute treat from start to finish. I ordered the gorgonzola encrusted steak, and it was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and full of rich flavor that was elevated beautifully by the creamy tang of the cheese. Each bite was memorable, and it’s clear that the chefs here take pride in both quality and presentation. The meal alone was worth the visit, but what truly made the experience shine was the flawless service.

The wait staff were nothing short of wonderful. From the moment I was seated, they were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely warm in their hospitality. They anticipated needs before I even asked, kept drinks topped off, and ensured every detail of the meal went smoothly. It’s rare to find such a balance of professionalism and friendliness, and it really elevated the evening.

Of course, no great meal is complete without dessert, and Capitol Grille delivered on that as well. The dessert I tried was decadent and delicious, the perfect sweet finish to an already outstanding dinner. Combined with the welcoming atmosphere—sophisticated yet comfortable, with a touch of elegance that makes you want to linger—it’s easy to see why Capitol Grille stands out as one of the best dining spots in Salt Lake City. Without hesitation, I give them a full five stars and will absolutely be returning.

This is absolutely my new favorite restaurant, I don’t remember when I’ve had a better meal. I got the wedge salad and added salmon, we got the creamed corn, the chocolate cake and the cheesecake and it was all unreal delicious. Our server Claudia was so wonderful, as were all the staff who helped us. Highly recommend!! I can’t wait to have a reason to come back.
