Open seven days a week, The Capital Grille is best known for our expertly prepared steaks, which are dry aged in house for 18 to 24 days and then hand-cut by our restaurant’s on-premise butcher. The Capital Grille’s wine list features more than 350 selections, and its floor-to-ceiling wine kiosk regularly houses 3,500 – 5,000 bottles. Reservations are recommended but not required. The Capital Grille is one of my favorite spots for lunch. Everything we’ve tried has been excellent! The calamari is fantastic — perfectly cooked and so flavorful — and their Caesar salad is one of the best.
The salmon with couscous is also amazing. It’s cooked perfectly every time and feels light but still really satisfying.
But the absolute star of the meal is the crème brûlée cheesecake. Thick crust, tall cheesecake—It’s honestly one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. It’s so good that I’ve even order it for takeout sometimes!!

The Capital Grill fires on ALL cylinders. We’ve to some of the best restaurants in Chicago and we still talk about our meal here. Impeccable service. Stunning atmosphere. Absolutely incredible food. One-of-a-kind bread basket right at your table. The steaks are truly in a class by themselves. Money well spent. Went for my birthday and they made it special and unique. Can’t wait to return.

If you’ve stepped foot in a Capital Grille anywhere else in the country, congratulations—you’ve already been to this one. Nestled across from Woodfield Mall, this location offers the exact brand of “predictable luxury” we’ve all come to expect. It’s the culinary equivalent of a reliable pair of loafers: comfortable, entirely unexciting, and exactly like the other pair in your closet.
The service was perfectly fine, which is to say it was good enough that I didn’t complain but not so exceptional that I’ll remember the server’s name by tomorrow. We started with the French Onion soup, which was… soup. It was warm, it had cheese, and it was the definition of “nothing special.” Things got slightly more dramatic when my filet arrived at a temperature that suggested the chef and I have very different definitions of “doneness,” but to their credit, it was whisked away and fixed before I could even get a good eye-roll in.
On the bright side, the dry-aged NY Strip Au Poivre with that Courvoisier cream lived up to the hype—it’s probably the most personality you’ll find on the menu. We paired it with the Au Gratin potatoes, which were a solid, cheesy highlight in an otherwise standard steakhouse performance. If you’re looking for a meal that won’t surprise you in the slightest while you’re out shopping, this is your spot.

Perfect place if your looking to celebrate! We had our anniversary here and the staff was amazingly nice. Service was quick and efficient. Food was DELICIOUS! Even the simple platters were full of flavor. Make you you try their deserts because they had the best I’ve ever tasted. Valet parking is available and recommend using during their busy times. Great service with the valet as well! They do have business casual dress code for men to wear long sleeves. Women like me who always wanted to can wear a elegant dress.

This was the BEST restaurant I have ever taken my soon-to-be fiancée!! We celebrated 3 years of our love and life together, so I decided to research some appropriate spots and, quite frankly, I’ve never celebrated 3 years of anything, so this was a VERY special occasion for both of us. First off, the valet was very polite and quick! When we walked in, we were greeted right away with a warm welcome and were checked in. The atmosphere and ambiance were just the right taste we were looking for, not too dead but not too busy either. The interior is gorgeous and definitely makes you feel like you’re paying for what you’re getting! Both the waiter and server (forgive me, I forgot their names) were immaculate!!! The staff went above and beyond in fulfilling a request I had made in regards to the celebration, and they made it happen, no questions asked. The food??? LEGENDARY. Cooked to literal perfection and displayed beautifully across our table. They even surprised the both of us with a complimentary dessert to celebrate! This place was truly beyond our expectations, and we’ll definitely be back a second time around. Thank you to the staff for being awesome!
