I recently dined at The Capital Grille in Charlotte and had a very enjoyable experience. The restaurant offers an upscale yet comfortable atmosphere, making it an ideal choice for an anniversary celebration, special occasion, or business dinner.

The standout dish of the evening was the crab cake — exceptionally well-prepared and full of generous, high-quality crab meat. There was no skimping on the main ingredient, and the flavor was rich and perfectly balanced. It was easily the highlight of the meal.

I also ordered a fish entrée, which was cooked well and had a nice texture. While it was enjoyable overall, I personally would have preferred a bit more seasoning to elevate the dish further.

For dessert, I tried the cheesecake, which was not the traditional New York style I was expecting. Instead, it was a more creative interpretation — flavorful, smooth, and a pleasant surprise to end the meal.

The Capital Grille consistently delivers attentive service, quality ingredients, and a refined dining experience. Based on this visit, I would confidently recommend it for anyone looking for a memorable meal in an elegant setting.

Visited The Capital Grille December 19th for my boyfriend’s birthday. When we walked in the greeters were so friendly and welcoming. Got to our table the waiter was good. Our food was AMAZING definitely the best part about the restaurant. However, the manager (I’m guessing) he was a white older male with salt and pepper like hair and beard greeted EVERY SINGLE TABLE IN OUR AREA EXCEPT FOR OURS. Mind you, my boyfriend and I were the ONLY blacks in that area. The woman that was sitting beside of us was literally in arms reach of us and he the manager had a good 3 minute conversation with her and he daughter. After the conversation he walked right away and never once acknowledged us the whole 2 hours we were there. We watched him parade around the room engaging with all the tables except ours. Every time he walked past our table it was zero eye contact, not a gesture of a smile or nothing. I will visit Capital Grille again, but never at the Charlotte location.

We reserved this restaurant for our anniversary. Due to construction on the street, and its downtown location, we elected to valet ($11). The restaurant was huge and the atmosphere really nice. Our waitress was very attentive and the front of the house manager came over to ask how we were doing. I ordered a passion fruit mojito that was delicious. I chose the scallops and lobster risotto. It was well seasoned and very delicious. My husband ordered the filet mignon. He asked for steak sauce before taking a bite, but afterwards told the waitress he didn’t want it. It cut like butter he said and was seasoned too good to add the steak sauce. The restaurant presented me with a rose, gave us a nice card, as well as two desserts, a brulee cheesecake and flourless chocolate expresso cake. The menu items are expensive, although due to the quality of the food its worth it. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will return again for lunch.

I feel like every time I come to Capital Grille it gets better and better every time. The steaks are always cooked perfection. Every time I go, I get the ribeye and Caesar salad it never disappoints. If you come here don’t worry about the pricing because the experience you get is well worth it. The food is great, but the service is even better and I couldn’t have been more appreciative for how our server treated my mother and I.

My first time visiting any Capital Grille, and I would happily return. Our server was highly knowledgeable and courteous.

The New England clam chowder I had as an appetizer was delicious and served at the perfect temperature. This was after we noshed on the interesting variety of options in the bread basket.
My entree was the citrus glazed salmon with green beans. The flavor of the salmon 10/10 but it seemed a bit on the dry side. Next time I would probably go for the sea bass or scallops.

Our waiter was very attentive and patient with our table and he gave good suggestions. For me this is definitely a date night or special occasion spot. I got an appetizer (5 oysters) and the scallop risotto dish. That was about $102 before tip.

I wanted to do something special for my wife’s birthday. I’ve seen advertisements for this restaurant so I made reservations and we were pleasantly surprised. Our server Shante, went above and beyond to make my wife experience special. My wife had the filet mignon and I had the 28 oz bone in rib eye with South African lobster tail. Both meals were amazing. If you are ever in Charlotte’s city center check out this restaurant.

We recently purchased a gift certificate to Capital Grill in Charlotte for my son and his new wife. They had an amazing experience here. The dry aged New York strip and filet mignon were perfectly cooked! They also loved the lobster mac and cheese and the tuna tartare. This restaurant went over the top to make the newlyweds feel extra special by leaving rose petals on their table, gave our new daughter in law a rose and treated them to a chef’s dessert sampler congratulating them on their recent marriage. So happy we chose this restaurant!

Do not use their valet parking. It is 35° out and somehow they got my Car covered in bird shit and I don’t just mean one little piece of bird shit there is bird shit all over my car, adding photo as it won’t let me add more, but there is not an inch of my car that is not covered in bird shit, and it was not there when I gave them my car Where are they parking the car to get so much bird shit on it. My car WAS clean!

It was our first visit for a birthday celebration. Reservation was at 445pm, which is before Valet is open. We parked in Fifth Third parking garage and walked to restaurant (It cost $5 to park as long as you have restaurant validate your parking ticket).
We were seated at a table in the corner of the restaurant that was thoughtfully sprinkled with birthday glitter and a handwritten birthday greeting.
Our appetizer, dinners and birthday desserts were incredible!! We enjoyed every single bite. We appreciate an early start to dinner…less people, less noise and we had great service. Also, we were happy to walk a block back to our car after a very satisfying, filling meal. I’d recommend The Capital Grille.
