The restaurant features three distinct dining areas: the main floor, an outdoor balcony, and an upstairs section. We opted for the upstairs area, which offered a cozy ambiance. Upon being seated, the host informed us of a 20% gratuity charge, which we appreciated knowing upfront.
For our appetizers, we initially wanted to try the chicken spring rolls but were informed they were unavailable. Instead, we decided on the Caesar salad, which was fresh and satisfying.
For my main course, I went with the Peri Peri Shrimp Tacos, bursting with flavor, while my husband enjoyed the Smash Burger, which he also found to be quite good. To complement our meals, I chose a mimosa, and my husband opted for a refreshing passion fruit mocktail.
Overall, The Cape offers a beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, and a varied menu that caters to different tastes. We left feeling satisfied and would definitely return for another visit!
But when I asked for a side order of mayonnaise to go with my french fries… And the server came back explaining that I wasn’t allowed to get any… We thought it was a joke ! He was not joking… The server explained the kitchen was running low on mayonnaise and they were not able to give me any. My girlfriend and I just laughed… Still believing he was joking. He kept apologizing… And let me know that it was no joke. I couldn’t even get 2 or 3 tablespoons worth of mayonnaise… after spending $16 per drink(s). I can assure you, I have never been refused mayonnaise in my life !
I was glad I didn’t order the burger… What if I had asked for mayonnaise for that ?
And there’s a grocery store in the shopping center across the road…
The atmosphere outside is beautiful and made the whole meal feel more special. Combined with the food and drinks, it was a great way to spend an afternoon.
I’d definitely come back, especially when the weather’s nice.
