Honestly pretty surprised with how good this was!! The trap sauce was very tasty and flavorful and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. I got the pound of shrimp and it was more than enough and had a lot left over. The garlic bread was a little too oily but not bad at all and was perfect after some spicy food! I got the hot seasoning and it was pretty spicy which I loved!! Definitely recommending this to all my sea food boil lovers!

Had an opportunity to visit the Cajun Trap in Murrieta by the request of my daughter and glad we did. The food was good and plentiful for what you pay for. We ordered ours mild and it was just right, enough to enjoy and have a little kick. The service was great, the staff followed up continuously to make sure we were all good. The ambiance was neat and matched the cuisine, little bummed I hadn’t visited sooner.

They used what tastes like regular hotlinks you put on the grill. It has no flavor. Just butter with garlic and hot pepper.
$7 dollars for 3/4 of a hotlink.
$1.25 for this small potatoe.

Was so excited to try this place too. Guess I’ll stick to driving an hour and a half away to Crab Hut. At least I know the food I’m getting is good.
Wouldn’t recommend this spot if you love real seafood boils.

« The Cajun trap » restaurant is really a trap !
really disappointed by the welcome and especially by the lack of space… 7 people on a bench of 6, with no one in the restaurant. There was no room for our coats or bags… and the waiter who threw down the dish full of butter, sauce and grease without a word. He ended up spilling it all over our clothes without even apologizing and just walking away. A brand new zipped Jordan jacket bought less than 24 hours ago with receipt to support it!
I was angry and I was told they won’t tolerate this behavior when we were just upset due to the lack of professional courtesy, then told we could leave!!! shameful to treat customers like that!
The manager is very unprofessional and only offered a discount, after ruining multiple clothing items. We didn’t want a discount. We wanted to be treated correctly and with respect.
This place does not deserve business!
We go out for diner a few times a week and have never had an experience like this!

First time going there. I wanted my daughter and husband to experience eating a boil. My daughter totally jumped right in embracing the experience. I ate the grilled octopus ,rice and potato. Our waiter was really kind. I recommend taking your family and friends . Don’t use the gloves, enjoy getting messy

The Cajun Trap Sauce…. almost no words on how bad it was. Not sure how to start on this review….

We ordered the peeled shrimp, mussels, and claims. I feel like the season itself was cooked very well. The sauce it was in was SO salty, I was a smoker for 20+ years and my taste for salt has diminished quite a bit. For me to say to was way too salty is saying a lot. Our server, super sweet about it (she is why I didn’t give a 1 star for service) tried to help by diluting the salts with more butter and garlic. It help quite a bit but the salt and flavor really didn’t sit well.

If anyone is a fan of Kickin Crab sauce, there is no comparison. Their well cooked seafood was wasted in this sauce. Such a shame. Rate: 3 of 10

Service people would walk by and ask us how it was, we said it was not good, there reaction was like they didn’t know what to do. They just said, oh I’m sorry and walked away. Lol! 3 of them did that that was not our server. They didn’t ask what could be done at all. If it wasn’t for our main server it would be negative reviews for service. 10 of 10 to my server, 1 of 10 to everyone else.

We also ordered the calamari, typical battered frozen food. 7 of 10.

Frys, very crispy and fresh out the deep fryer, 9.5 of 10

Unfortunately, I would never go back here.
The sauce recipe needs to change. I left a lot of good seafood to waste.

Sarah and Ashley were our servers! They definitely had great customer service. It was our first time here and I have family visiting from Guam and we chose this spot. We do not regret. The food was delicious, their portions were great, overall for first timers—we enjoyed it. The atmosphere was great along with the music. We were singing and dancing while waiting for our food and eating our food. Thank you, Cajun Trap for your excellent customer service, food and vibe.

It was really good. We had lobster, king crab, snow crab and some add ons. The mild sauce was kind of spicy but I am a spicy food punk ☺. Service was average to good. The place was empty on a Thursday at 3pm when we were there.. Try it and let me know what your thoughts are.

The Cajun Trap is a gem for seafood lovers. The combination of fresh, flavorful seafood, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit. We left with full bellies and big smiles, already planning our next visit. Highly recommended!

The flavoring is okay. My issue with the concept of putting the seafood boil on a tray versus keeping it in a bag is that it cools (gets cold) faster. Halfway into eating it, the tray was cold. The service was good and it’s a cute place but it’s no sans got crabs, snow crab or kickn crab
