It is a cool spot and I had high hopes but the food was just ok. We ordered seafood platters. It was a good amount of food, we both had left overs, but it just wasn’t great food. For the price I would have expected better. We didn’t even bring the left over with us.

For me, this place holds major nostalgia. I dined here many times when I was young, and from what I’m told, they had the best burger around before they burned down in the early nineties. They rebuilt and bounced back, but I can’t say it’s the same. The prices are a touch high, even in an inflation period. You can still throw peanut shells on the floor, and I like the impressionist art on the walls, but it is a little bare. Honest time; the peanuts are stale, the fried pickles are soggy, and the popcorn shrimp is overcooked. We had a big party so I wasn’t expecting fast service, the waiter was great. They do need to step it up in the kitchen if they want to run parallel to the prices. I will eat here again.

This is the best place for catfish in Louisiana. No one else’s catfish taste like there’s. My only suggestion is I wish they would go back to making their hush puppies by hand instead of using premade.

My family and many, many friends and neighbors frequent The Cajun Catfish House in Pineville, LA that cooks and serves up an excellent line of catfish, seafood, and an amazing list of sides and appetizers! Their gumbo is worth a repeat, too.

I’ll never eat there again! Food was nasty & tasteless. So bad that I thought I had Covid for a second till she said her food had no seasoning as well. The waitress never came back to refill our glasses.
