i was in millen for the day and decided to stop here for lunch to go. i immediately got the vibes that not many people from out of town come to this restaurant. the ladies knew just about everyone’s names and orders which is great for them, but she let about 3 or 4 people cut ahead of me so she could ring them up. i wasn’t really getting a great feeling after that, but when i got my food 20 mins later, the taste of everything made up for it. the food was great, reasonably priced and id definitely come back, just give a little more attention to the newcomers or travelers please! ❤️

Amazing small town Southern atmosphere, food and service.
We visit Millen about 4 times a year and always stop at the Cafe on Cotton.
We always get the Buffet, which includes salad, multiple entrees and sides, drink, and dessert. Banana Pudding is wonderful and homemade.
Hours are 11:00am to 2:00pm

My family and I were in town today for a funeral … We could have not had a more yummy meal…. I even went back twice through the buffet line…. Chicken … mac and cheese … real mashed potatoes … field peas … fried okra … rice and gravy … cornbread patties etc …And oh my the assortment of homemade desserts …My husband had the BLT and oohed and ahhed as he was devouring it …. Sure hope I can get back that way again ! My sons live in Greenville SC and enjoyed every morsel too!

We stopped here for lunch while driving through Millen and this is a fantastic find for great southern home cook meals. We took advantage of the lunch buffet and it was great. The service was wonderful and so helpful explaining how the buffet works. I think that I may drive there from Augusta for another meal soon. Thank you!

This is the local spot if you are in the area. Had the buffet there, which was decently priced, and but not the largest selection. None of the foods had standout flavor, but all food was fresh and simple which I enjoy. The staff was great and provided prompt service. The dining area is large, but felt dingy. Recommend stopping by if you are in area.

While staying at the Magnolia Springs State Park, we stopped at The Cafe On Cotton for lunch. All offerings on the buffet were outstanding. Fried chicken and meatloaf were awesome. Lots of dessert choices… I think she named off about 15!
Service excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend. $11 for buffet (2 meats and 3 vegetables, salad bar, a drink, and dessert). All you can eat (trust me $11 option was plenty) is a couple dollars more. Open 11 am to 2 pm. Knew it was good when we saw tons of cars including local EMS folks. Huge seating area…. Distancing is easily accomplished.

What a great choice it was for us to stop here while traveling through, which just happened to be 25 minutes before their closing time. We expecting to be rushed because of the timing, but there couldn’t be anything further from the truth. All the staff were warm, welcoming, and humble. The food was amazing and service was quicker than most fast food places. Icing on the cake was to see all the staff enjoying food together, like a family, after they were actually closed. This speaks volumes to their work environment. We will stop by any time we are in the area and, heck, I might make the trip just for those homemade chips .
