A great find for Vegans! So lucky and happy we found this wonderful place with lots of options for vegetarians and vegans. I had a delicious veggie burger and my boyfriend enjoyed his huevos rancheros. Super cute decor, friendly and fast service. Although they didn’t have a vegan Key Lime pie on the menu, the waitress was able to tell me where to get one in Key West. We took her advice and we were pleased to find that she was correct, the Moondog Cafe & Bakery had a Key Lime Pie Tart. This place is a haven for Vegans and Vegetarians. If you’re one of those (or just want to enjoy healthy food) and find yourself in Key West, you must go here for a terrific meal.

Jump right into the Key West vibe and grab a great meal at The Cafe! With something for every dietary need this place will be sure to please everyone.

Cute, funky decor that creates a bohemian, tropical, organic feel to the atmosphere. Maybe it’s a Key West thing or just a The Cafe thing but our waitress was PHENOMENAL! Her smile, good attitude, and general happiness is contagious and most welcomed!

The food was also a big hit with our entire party that dined for lunch. Vegan and non-vegan alike raved about their meals. The watermelon juice is the thing dreams are made out of. It’s been over a week and I’m still thinking about it. HIGHLY recommend trying it.

The famous vegan burger was impressive by texture, freshness, and taste. It’s probably the meatiest meat-free burger I’ve had that doesn’t have any of the ultra processed crap Beyond or Impossible burgers use. Also the low key winner is the bean salad that comes with a lot of the meals. Wasn’t sure what to expect but it’s BIG flavor. Just delicious!

Of course we couldn’t end the meal there so we ordered dessert. Vegan carrot cake, umm, yes please! Decadent cream cheese frosting followed waves of warmth from the spiced cake. Enjoyable from the first down to the very last bite. Also highly recommend.

If you’re in Key West I highly recommend dropping by The Cafe for a memorable and enjoyable meal! You won’t be disappointed!

This place truly feels like home every time I come here.

Whenever I’m in Key West, I always make a point to stop by The Cafe, and it never disappoints. I remembered Juan from my last visit, and once again he took amazing care of me.

I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was absolutely fabulous — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Juan let me know that the chef prepared it extra special, which I genuinely loved. Those thoughtful touches make all the difference.

And let’s be honest — Juan is extremely handsome, warm, and welcoming, with great energy that makes you feel instantly comfortable. Consistently great food, incredible service, and that feeling that you’re always welcome back.

I’ll definitely be back — again and again.

If you’re looking for a delicious, plant-based meal in Key West, The Café is a must. We ordered the spring rolls, stir-fry noodles, veggie pizza, and carrot cake (all vegetarian/vegan-friendly), and every dish was a winner.

Spring Rolls: Crisp, golden, and not at all greasy—packed with fresh vegetables and herbs. The dipping sauce was bright and balanced, adding just the right tang.

Stir-Fry Noodles: Perfectly cooked noodles with great bite, tossed in a savory, well-balanced sauce. The vegetables stayed vibrant and crisp—every forkful had flavor and texture.

Veggie Pizza: Generously topped and thoughtfully composed. The crust was crisp outside, tender inside, and held up beautifully under the toppings—fresh and bright, not heavy.

Carrot Cake: The star of the night. Moist and warmly spiced, with silky frosting that wasn’t overly sweet. A slow-savor dessert.

Service: A special shout-out to Amanda, who was outstanding from start to finish. She listened carefully to our dietary preferences, clarified ingredients, and guided us to exactly what we’d love. Attentive without hovering—spot on.

Kudos to the Chef: The taste across the board was awesome. You can feel the chef’s touch in the details—clean, balanced flavors; consistent seasoning; perfect textures (that wok-kissed noodle finish, those ultra-crisp rolls, and the beautifully spiced cake). Compliments to the kitchen team for executing everything so well.

Ambience & Overall: Relaxed, welcoming, and unpretentious—ideal for a casual dinner that still feels special. Portions are generous, prices are fair, and the menu offers plenty of meat-free variety without sacrificing flavor or creativity.

Bottom line: Fantastic plant-based options (don’t miss the spring rolls and carrot cake), stellar service from Amanda, and chef-driven flavors that shine. We’ll be back—and we’ll be asking for Amanda again.

The Café is one of the best spots in Key West for fresh, healthy, and beautifully presented food. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The beet salad was amazing — perfectly balanced with feta, toasted almonds, and fresh vegetables. The avocado bowl was just as impressive, with perfectly ripe avocado and wholesome ingredients that made it both filling and delicious.

The atmosphere is relaxed, cozy, and welcoming — perfect for a peaceful breakfast or lunch. You can really feel the Key West charm here. The service was friendly, and the overall experience felt elevated yet comfortable.

Whether you’re vegan, vegetarian, or just looking for clean, fresh food in Key West, The Café is a must-visit. Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back!

Lots of interesting dishes especially if you are vegan. I only had the opportunity to try the vegan key lime pie, as the night we planned to have dinner here it was pouring rain. The key lime was ok – I’ve had better dairy free pie before. It wasn’t creamy enough -very solid. And no gluten free crust which would have made a big difference. The service was wonderful, very friendly. The inside was beautifully decorated. But as in most key west restaurants, no a/c, at least not turned on. It’s often so hot in the key west restaurants. I would recommend though. Wish I could have tried more things!

The owners/hosts of The Cafe are some of the warmest persons I have come across. Our group had visited twice during the week of July 4th. There are plenty of different dishes to choose from and they are able to adjust for dietary restrictions as needed. The food was freshly made and very satisfying. The juices and coffees were brilliant as well. We were so full from the main course that we could not taste the desserts. To the owners and the chef, thank you for the memorable experience and brilliant food!!
