Kind of a weird place. Prime rib dip was not good. Fatty meat and the parm cheese was weird. Fries were good. Bathroom were outside. Bathroom was warmer then the bar was really cold in the bar. Bartender seemed irritated we didn’t tip more but we waited awhile for someone to even come over to us. Nothing special here. Probably won’t be back

Pickle Chicken Wings and Hand-battered Mushrooms for appetizers
I had the “Not-A-Burger” which is thin slices prime rib on a bun with onion rings on it. It was rich and tasty!
Monica had a Philly Cheese Steak with Aujus sauce. It was pretty good too.
I think I will do the French Dip Next time. I also heard their nightly specials are fantastic!

Update: 3/7/25 What a dive, a real hole in the wall. However, it is a hidden gem. Wow, great food, great service. I have now eaten here on gour different days in the last month. The cooks puts out some fantastic food. I have tried their Prime Rib Dipper, served with tots, the Italian Grinder and the Chili burger. Yoday, My wife and I come in for lunch. Her mushroom swiss burger was very good and my Thai chili chicken wrap was delicious. All the different food items were really good. They served it with house made fry sauce. I also had an order of hand dipped mushrooms. These were a very positive dining experiences.

Ordered take out. Was unclear where to pick it up. It was a busy night, seems like they have regulars. Which is good to see. We ordered take out from here before and it was excellent. This time not so good. Maybe because they were so busy? Would for sure go back but maybe order food to stay and in.

Stopped here during a rainy road trip. We were hungry and the Cabin Tavern was right on our route. The building has seen better decades, we didn’t have high hopes.
But.
We were greeted upon entry by the hostess/waitress/bartender and invited to sit anywhere. She recommended the “not a burger”, shaved prime rib piled on a pretzel bun. We each chose that, with tots on the side. Both the sandwich and tots were prepared perfectly. Tip: ask for the blue cheese crumbles on the side. The sandwich doesn’t need them.
A rack card on our table advertised seasonal drinks, which all sounded delicious. The next time we drive through Shelton, we”ll plan our trip to stop here for lunch.
My only complaint was the loud-mouth patron holding court from her bar stool. Fingers crossed she’s not a daily visitor.

If you can picture a dive bar in your head, this is it. Low ceilings, dark but pleasant atmosphere. Food is all made in house and absolutely amazing. Its a local place for sure, welcoming of new-comers. If we lived in the area, this would be our regular bar.

So we love dive bars and this checked all the boxes. It’s a small homey place on the inside, with a nice bar and table seating. Our bartender, Amy, was a breath of fresh air. The type who’s never met a person she didn’t know. She gave us excellent service and checked with us constantly even when the place filled up. She gave me a brief history of the business when I asked. It looked lkke a lot of locals might frequent here. I almost expected to hear, “Norm!”. The food was good too.

Great for a bar. Spent $50 for two people with bears. Pretty much your classic dive bar. Rough on the outside but better on the inside.
Excellent fries, good rodeo burger and good club sandwich.
Not disappointed, would recommend it, but don’t feel a strong need to go back.
