☆ Updating review based on 2nd & last visit. My friend & I went there on a Friday, anxious to try their baked fish. They tried seating us with a 5 member family (already eating) at an 8 seating table. We said we’d wait at the bar until a table opened up. They said we could eat at the bar, but we wanted a table. 15 minutes later, another couple came in and were quickly seated at an empty table. We stood up to check out the situation, to see if 2 tables had opened, but it was only the one. 2 more people came in and sat at a bar table. We hadn’t realized it had become vacant. Another person came to eat, but wanted a drink first, and the bartender gave her a menu too look over. We had each ordered a drink, but they knew we we were waiting for a table. We were never offered a menu to look at. We were never told when tables opened up. All in all, we felt ignored and slighted. There was an open bar table when we left (that we saw, not that anyone told us). But, we decided we were better than that & they didn’t deserve our patronage. There was no excuse for the cold shoulder treatment. I won’t return.
First time visit, on a Tuesday @ 1pm (07/01/2025). I was hoping to try their highly rated Italian Beef Sandwich. Unfortunately, they were out of it (beef roast). So, I ordered the Taco Salad (full order). It was basically nachos without the cheese sauce; difficult to eat and not very good. Fortunately, I was only out $6.35 + tip for what amounted to be a tiny salad on top of tostitos (that I didn’t eat).
There was only one employee (that I saw), with about 14 people at the bar drinking & eating, and 2 people playing the noisy video machines. I was the only one in the dining room. It’s a cute place. Their menu offerings looked great. If I return, I’ll call ahead and make sure they have their signature roast beef.
Worth noting, their All-u-can-eat (AUCE) Haddock Fish Fry is only available after 4pm on Fridays (dine in only). They serve other fish entrees throughout the day (Friday). Cash only, no credit cards.

Great little place. Very comfortable, has an eating area with several tables not near the bar, which is nice. Waitreas/bartender was very friendly and outgoing, food was very good, we have the roasted chicken and mushroom and Swiss both with fries. I’m not a big fan of crinkle cut fries, but it was still good. Cost us under $40, which we felt was a good deal, especially in these times.

I always make it a point to visit this charming Wisconsin country bar and grill whenever I’m in town visiting my folks. Our ritual? Breakfast with my dad. The giant, delicious blueberry pancakes paired with a steaming cup of coffee are an absolute delight. The homely ambiance of the place adds to the experience, making it feel like a comforting slice of home. But what truly makes this place special is the staff. Gracie, our server, is an absolute hoot! Her cheerful demeanor and warm hospitality elevate the dining experience to a whole new level. She not only ensures that our orders are perfect but also adds a touch of laughter and joy to our mornings.Overall, this quaint Wisconsin country bar and grill is a hidden gem. From scrumptious breakfast options to the friendly and attentive staff like Gracie, it’s a place that leaves you wanting to come back for more.

Small cozy little restaurant with an up north feel. Very impressed with lots of unexpected homemade dishes and extremely reasonable prices. Had a Homemade Italian Roast Beef Sandwich that was one of the best I’ve ever had! Really tasted the herbs on the extremely thinly sliced tender beef. The jalapenos were a nice extra touch. Au Jus was definitely from a homemade roast and not some cheap canned bouillon garbage. Now also comes with an Italian Sausage too. My dining partner’s gyro was also very well recieved. No pickles on our sandwich plates last visit! Breakfast items just as delicious with a very meaty Sausage Gravy and Biscuits and a well made, authentic Eggs Benedict. They run a smoker on the last Thursday of the month. Never had the opportunity to sample it in FOUR years of visits! Had the Friday AYCE Baked Haddock with Parmesan Sauce Special and was rewarded with very fresh, thick loins of delicious Haddock! Well worth the price and sauce was a perfect compliment to the fish. Chicago Dog was also quite tasty with plenty of toppings. Good looking Sunday Bloody Mary Bar too!

Great food for great prices! Staff is quite amicable and the atmosphere is, usually, pretty inviting. Used to be my typical place to hang out until I wasn’t drinking so frequently.

Pretty cool little place. We chose this place while traveling through the area. We like the vibe, standard Wisconsin bar. The food was very good. Not many places know how to make brisket but they got it down. The burgers are good as well. Service was friendly and prompt enough. Would go back again.

I love this place and the food is amazing. But on Tuesday night a local drunk comes in a screws up everything. I asked the bartender to cut him off but he kept getting drinks to the point I wanted to kick his ass. So I left

The Cabin was well worth a stop on a road trip! I stopped on a Friday night and got the fish special. The baked fish with the crust parmesan cheese was DELICIOUS! The corn fritters are also ! We had Regina (Gina) as our server and she was delightful and knowledgeable. Someone in our group had a shellfish allergy, and she took the time to make sure the fish wasn’t being fried in the same fry as the shrimp.
