I visited for brunch and absolutely loved the ambiance—the decor is great and the vibe is perfect for hanging out. Our server was a doll and never rushed us, allowing my friend and me plenty of time to catch up.
However, the experience was mixed. I started with a rose and cardamom latte, substituting whole milk for almond milk due to my tree nut allergies. It was delicious.
Things got complicated when ordering food. A woman in a black jacket (who turned out to be the manager) took our order. I wanted the Lemon Lavender Waffle (modified for my allergy: no pistachios, no coconut whip). She told me the batter itself contained coconut and I couldn’t have it. I was deciding on a backup plan when our original server returned. She checked with the kitchen and confirmed the batter is actually oat-based and coconut-free. It is worrying that a manager didn’t know the ingredients, especially when allergies are involved.
When the food arrived, it was a feast for the eyes, but not the stomach. My waffle was dry, the figs were flavorless, and the lemon/lavender notes were barely there. My friend’s Shakshuka was overloaded with chickpeas and parsley, which took away from the dish.
I might return because I loved the vibe, but I would definitely order something different next time.
They have some great vegan options too!
I got the Black Wheat Pancake It’s gluten free and tasted amazing! ✨
It came with light vegan whipped cream, and for me it’s the perfect sweet treat even without syrup! ️

It’s one of those places I go when I don’t want to gamble on quality, service, or cleanliness. You know you’re going to have a good experience every time, and that reliability is rare.
I recently brought some friends who were visiting from out of town and they absolutely loved it. They’re also pretty tough critics when it comes to restaurants, so that says a lot.
I think it’s important to support businesses that consistently do things well, and The Butcher’s Daughter is definitely one of them. A true go-to spot. Thank you!!!
Thank you to Jasmine who helped us having a wonderful time! Such a nice and radiant person!
