Hmm, I am kinda torn right now between Burger Bar and all the other places that offer relatively tasty and well priced burgers already. Just ate at the first The Burger Bar in VA I think during opening day today. The service is of course stellar given the Wegmans standard for quality of course.
The meal itself was ok…. See pic. Ok so the meat patty does not seem to be of frozen provenance. And it took me a few minutes to understand why they say it’s irradiated beef as this is a great solution offering to those who like burgers cooked rare. So kudos for meat doneness option …. but was hoping to get more Maillard crusting on the meat patty. The fries are not double-fried so they do get soggy when cool. The sweet potato fries is the highlight due to the interesting cut which seems to make it crunchy on outside, moist & sweet on inside. The burger entrees seem limited. Was hoping for far memorable flavors (again, very little Maillard crust) but I’ll hold the last star and see what specials or events this location might hold in the future. IMPORTANT note for all those with hungry kids when food shopping …. Yes, I would come back to eat here as the sit down area is very relaxing and family oriented.

DO NOT. PLEASE DO NOT come and waste your money here. These are not burgers, they’re shredded cardboard (cardboard taste better than this). No flavor, can tell it’s from frozen processed patties, can tell beef has freezer burn. Asked for a medium was given a dried up overcooked burger. Also ordered the chicken BLT… had no flavor. Can tell it was frozen chicken overcooked chicken. Fries were also frozen no flavor. Just over seasoned. Wasted $25 here. Please don’t make the same mistake we did by buying processed frozen overpriced food.

$18 burger, so it’s compared to premium burgers and it doesn’t make it there. Rather than pink or no pink they offer rare, medium and well done. It’s much harder to judge how to cook it properly. It, well done, was overcooked. The toppings were sparce and unimpressive.
It had a gluten free bun because my wife is intolerant. The bun was huge, you can decide if that’s a good thing or not.
The fries were good and hot, covered with rosemary and garlic ,I think. Very good.
Overall, a decent meal but not $18.

Very expensive. My wife got a lobster salad that was $20 and it didn’t have a lot of lobster in it. Our bill was over $30 for just lunch before getting groceries at Wegmans which is connected.
The burger was pretty good but limited in topping options. I thought the meat could use more seasoning. The overall taste and quality was good but, I’d rather go to the counter at Reston town center if I was getting an expensive burger.

I love the way the burgers are prepped. The patties were cooked well and retained their juiciness. I believe it was all meat and no extenders mixed in. Milkshake was nice thick and creamy too. Definitely gonna be back.

How fast the quality of this burger bar has gone down hill. This was my 4th trip to the Chantilly Burger Bar since they opened earlier this summer. The first 3 were notable, wonderful and I shared this opinion with many within ear shot who enjoy a tasty burger. Today, the 12 dollar classic american burger/fires and drink I typically get fell so far off my chart I compared it to a typically pre-made cafeteria burger. It’s hard to ruin a standard affair American meal. The fries tasted like boiled potato noodles. The burger bun was not brioche like they had claimed, but it was extra soggy because of the lack of grill time it had before being constructed for my consumption. This should have come to no surprise since the Soft Drink fountain they had issues with on day one STILL have not been resolved. I should not have been surprised still since I was the only one there ordering a burger on a Friday during the lunch rush hours. If I notice an uptick in foot traffic within the joint I may give it another chance, and possibly change my rating if I taste improvement.
