A great small town restaurant offering a unique atmosphere. There was a special of the day that looked great. Our family enjoyed a chicken sandwich, a bacon cheeseburger and the steak finger basket. Food was made to order. The staff and other patrons were very friendly.

Great memories at this Bar from the 1960’s when stopping in on Saturdays while working hay fields for Mae Walz Estate North of town. Before fire when Charlie was proprietor. Later When Aunt Audry and her second husband owned it. Today, always stop in for a burger and fries while passing through visiting family there. Had many sodas there with Uncle Howard Hartman, who’d come over from the courthouse to meet me when I was in town for one reason or another.

Pass this place up! The service was awesome and the staff was great.
No wifi and the pizza was a frozen pizza with extra stuff thrown on top. Gross

Super convenient, a small town with not much in it, but had everything I needed. Nice hometown vibe and they have really good food! They also have non-alcoholic beverages, and sell cigarettes. Billiard table, darts, jukebox, little slot machine, and an ATM.

Stopped here passing through a year ago for lunch. Great burger and fries. Excellent service also. Won’t find any better places than this for miles and miles around!

Love going here. We live about 40 miles away so only stop when going through the Sandhills. However, if we have guests from cities who have never seen the Sandhills, it is a great experience as not only because their food is very good, the decor is not something you would see in the city.

We had the good fortune to nearly run out of gas in Arthur, and took a chance that one of the Bunkhouse’s patrons could help us. The lovely young lady working on 23 November listened to our plight and sprang into action. After cooking and serving us a delicious lunch she scared up enough gas to get us to the next town with a service station. She didn’t even seem to think it was a big deal. If you happen to be in the general vicinity of Arthur, there’s no gas station, but the Bunkhouse is 110% worth a visit!

The BunkHouse offers a basic bar menu. There are a variety of hamburgers to choose from. Our food was cooked to order and the waitress/cook filled our water cups several times. Bud Light and Coors Light were on tap. The locals called each other by first names and sat down with a group already at the bar. I really liked the outdoor patio, with fire ring and large rocks for seating. One day I would like to take advantage of the local city park with trailer/RV camping pads and public restrooms. You could probably pitch a tent at the city park with very little hassle. We were the newbies in town and were interested in the history the bar provides. Several tables had epoxied pictures into the them. The bar had local town folks pictured on the wall with captions.
