First timers here! The service was great, our server (Garrett) was knowledgeable about drafts, food favorites and about the restaurant.
He promptly checked back when our food arrived and asked about everything. The food was good, not amazing, but nothing really to complain about except maybe the portion of coleslaw which was tiny yet yummy.
My wife loved her burger and her Mac n cheese was a hit.
Ambiance was a little strange with trivia night playing a new song every minute in between questions, but it was nice to see the place lively.
Will come again, but definitely felt more like a lunch restaurant where dinner was an afterthought.

I hosted a baby shower here last weekend for 30 people. Jacie and Joann were amazing in the planning, set up and follow through with this special occasion. The food was amazing and the service as well. They also provided beautiful tables with flowers in the color scheme I requested. I would highly recommend them if you are planning an event. No wait at all and the food was fantastic. Had our grandkids (ages 8-15) and daughter and her husband with us. Everyone’s food was served hot and delicious and timely. No need to drive to Cville when we can eat right around the corner from home! Staff was awesome and price was about the same as anywhere else around.

This is the message that I sent to Bunker Bistro yesterday afternoon. Messenger shows that it was seen, but I received absolutely no response until after I posted about it on our local Lake Monticello Facebook page.
“Hey, we were at the bistro for lunch today and had an awful experience. We were seated outside and basically forgotten about. The waiter initially took our drink order and didn’t come back for close to half an hour. When I went inside to say something to the bartender, she got an attitude and said that we hadn’t even been there that long. She came out a few minutes later and took our order. We waited approximately another 45 minutes before our food came out. My husband had to go inside and find our waiter to ask what was going on and for more drinks. It wasn’t even that busy inside. Then, my husband had to go inside again once we were done eating to look for the waiter again. There wasn’t any wait staff in view. Then, our waiter appeared. We asked for boxes and our check. We were there for about an hour and a half total. I believe we also got charged for apple juice for the kids when I thought that was included with the kids meal. It was C’s birthday. Not a good start to celebrate her special day ! I’m still really upset about the whole experience. It was hot outside and our waiter was MIA most of the time we were there.”

I had the halibut fish tacos (3) for 13.95 plus chips. It was delicious. The only recommendation i have is to add salad to the menu that has pecans and cranberries or blueberries w/ a fruit vinaigrette dressing. That would be a pleasant and fun addition. The waitress said only fruit available at Bunker is oranges, although great for a Mandarin salad of sorts. Great for the summer- nice and cool if ( a new salad addition) ever considered or comes to fruition.

9/21 3rd time here. Very few people in restaurant. 11:27 am. Ordered at 10:50. Omlets- nothing extra or special. Waitress kind, too cold in restaurant- and food still not out? We even skipped the sides of toast and hashbrowns. Very disappointed! Crab omelet very fishy smelling. Breakfast sausages mushy- wierd.

Ordered take out Sunday brunch and this is what I got for $13.95!!!! I ordered the corned beef hash with 2 eggs. Presentation was slopped together Portions are very small. I understand the price of food has increased, but charge me more and give me more food! Potatoes are cheap!

After debating what to get from the very limited menu options I went with a sandwich. My chicken filet tasted like it had soaked in grease. I’m pretty sure the “spicy mayo” was simply Thousand Island dressing and check out that cheese! Yuck. The fries weren’t cooked all of the way through and the service wasn’t good. Don’t waste your time. They’ll be done soon just like everything else that tries to make it out there. Oh, the beer was good so they have that going for them.
