I read the reviews and because we had free buffets I decided we might as well try it. That being said if I had to pay $37.00 plus $18.00 for the crab I would be mad. We went to dinner an hour after opening, with the thought food would be fresh. I was wrong. It was shriveled and hard on many hot dishes and even the chocolate cake tasted frozen and had an odd flavor. Doesn’t the Management read these reviews and address all the complaints. As a previous restaurant owner, why on earth all the bad reviews and no changes? Prime rib was tough and crab legs were very fishy, but edible at least. I wouldn’t order again. Our pics look good but not tasty. When they say on reviews empty food on the buffet it’s true and probably a good thing. Otherwise it may be old and dried up. Stick with the salad bar. Timbers had better food, we ate there a few hours later. Positive on the buffet, the fried chicken was good.

Husband and I went for our anniversary tonight. Didn’t eat all day so we had a huge appetite. Majorly disappointed is an understatement!!! Poor selection for a buffet. Prime rib was not good. Desserts tasted store bought. Rolls were hard. Worst part is on the way home our stomachs started hurting and now both of us are in the bathroom.

I am disappointed that south bend buffet has taken away the drinks that I usually ask for (tomato juice pineapple juice and grapefruit juice)
I am a regular at the South Bend location
If these selections return, I will edit and give a 5 star rating.
These selections are still available at the New buffalo Four Winds buffet.
The food is good on the buffet. You have a choice between different nationalities of food
Eg, asian
American and Italian. Sushi rolls are usually available in the chinese area
The shrimp with cocktail sauce are very good.

yeah i’ve been stuck on the toilet all night with violent food poisoning. i tried a bit of everything here, so who knows what made me sick. hadn’t eaten all day, so i know where it came from.
i went super stoked for a buffet that’s been hyped my whole life, theres, like, 2 counters and a salad bar–like, 10 hot food items total. so, not a lot to choose from. and what’s there is nassstyyy. at least i got to try a sliver of flank steak; i think it was left over from the night before because they didn’t serve steak after that.
anyway you’ll win some good poisoning if you don’t win at the slots at least. jackpot, lucky me

We Went on Friday 4/11/25 at 7:45. Supposed to be prime rib and shrimp. Half the buffet food was empty, and they were not restocking. So literally ate leftovers it seemed. I couldn’t even get a refill on my drink. The manager came around to give us the last call for food and asked how was dinner. i mentioned about how empty it was and how poor the service was, her reply was they got busy at 7 and then walked away. After spending $100 and barely getting anything worth eating I’m very disappointed! Will not be returning

I really had a bad experience @ The Buffet in South Bend. We were a party of 6 but since there were 6 of us, we had to either pay additional 20% each person in order to be seated together or be seated separately (group of 4 and 2). Since we opted not to pay additional 20%, they had to divide our group. The most irritating part was we were already divided into 2 groups and each group had to be seated in two different wings of the buffet because their excuse was the server who would serve us belong to the two different wings. What a lame excuse. They should still uphold customer satisfaction and not their interest. By the way, we went there in South Bend and drove 2 hours to celebrate my Husband’s birthday and it got ruined by the Buffet.

Restaurant is nice and clean. Staff is friendly and professional. Food is just nasty. Breaded butterfly shrimp was cold. Crab rangoon & spring roll was cold. Slices of cheese & cold cuts were sitting out for so long, the edges were hard & curling. $37.50 on a Friday… Wasn’t worth it at all. Dessert was great. 90% of my regular food choices were cold.

Buffet was Horrible!
Nobody was helpful I turned my players card back in.
I lost $200 and the floor was so rude I couldn’t bring myself to play anymore.

update: went back this past weekend with family from Florida. No where was it published that they were getting rid of the ayce Crab legs on sundays. they have changed it to a homestyle buffet of nasty cold food. its not even worth the $20 per adult. there are better buffets in south bend/mishawaka. do not recommend at all. the casino staff doesnt care about problems or issues anyways so whats the point of complaining.
So upset this time. Went to meet friends from out of town. Were told that with parties of 6 or more there would be a 20% gratuity added. We paid separatly, but still if we all wanted to sit together someone in the party would have to pay the gratuity. This is crazy. we refused and got split into 2 groups in different sections. this was absolutly disappointing to us and our guests from out of town. by far the worst experience ever. needless to say the meal wasnt as good as it could have been because of the situation.

For a buffet, the food was very good! They have a wide selection of food from different continents. I went here when they had their seafood special, and their snow crab were delicious! Other food like the prime rib and fried chicken were also very good. The buffet is pricey, but I think it’s worth it!
